Plus I would like to compete in the Raid De Himalaya while I'm there.

Once again at very high altitude and yes I know there doing it on Royal Enfeilds.

But how good would it be to do it on a modern EFI bike.

Save you having to put some copper wire down your main jet

    To big to heavy.

There is not many many people that can use a KTM 990 to it full potential and I am one of them.

    Why a BMW 800 and not a 1200?

A 2003 KTM 640 adv is worth about $5000.00-$6000.00 AUD here.
    A 2004 KTM 640 enduro with 20 ltr tank I can get for $4000.00

If I can ship it(tax included) to china for say $4000.00 it would be feasible but this does not look like the case

R12GS too heavy for route 219. F800GS can do it

    So money is a problem
Buy a used KTM 640 in China for about the same price and save the shipping. You can't get it into China anyway (money is an issue)

Don't they already have some BS registration when they're brought in?

How did they get the Yamaha WR/yz 450 into Xinjiang for that Taklamahan desert rally?

I saw photos of a Chinese rider riding one?

Would they have brought it from Hong Kong?
