08-15-2009, 06:02 AMIt's funny, but just today I went to visit Gibraltar, as I'm on holiday in Southern Spain, and went into a shop there that had some Regal Raptor bikes.
I was astounded by the quality of the finish. Things like the forward controls that look a lot better than those expensive after-market billet things.
On top of that one of the models there was fuel-injected and water-cooled, with a really neat and well-made radiator syetem.Jincheng Monkey JC50Q-7

My only real complaint with the Regal Raptors/Johnny Pag bikes is that they use inline twins vs. more asthetic looking v-twins; otherwise beautiful bikes, especially considering their Chinese origins!
I haven't seen too much on the Hi-Bird custom chopper with the v-twin that is available in the US, but costs more than the more well-known Johnny Pags.

02-02-2010, 01:39 PM80 hp V twin, eh? Well, that is more than a 1550 cc stock Harley, so I am guessing that it's either a big engine or sportbike derived. The only company making small powerful v twins are Suzuki, Ducati and Hyosung in Korea.
A Ducati 800 cc 2v from the old Monster s2r would be around 80 hp. Suzuki SV1000's make about 110 hp. Suzuki's SV650 and Hyosung's GV650 make around 65 hp. All of those are 90 degree vtwins, which look funny in cruisers. Rotax makes a 1000 cc v twin (60 degrees) with about 125 hp, sold in various Aprillias and the BRP Can am spyder. My guess would be Chinese frame, brakes and suspention with Rotax 1000 cc 60 degree vtwin, heavily detuned for more lower end.
