#1 trailer or bike carrier rules?05-09-2008, 01:33 AM
I have never seen any trailer hooked to a car in China or a bike carrier.
Is that "verboten" or authorize?Ride report - Few weeks in South West China

That is a great question. I've never seen one either but since they may not have anything quite like it in China you may just get a "suan le".
People seem to carry all kinds of stuff with just about anything they can.
You thinking about getting/making one?

I'm thinking to build a carrier on the rear of my ZhanQi to haul a bike.

I'd heard a rumor that trailers had been made legal or were about to be made legal a couple years ago.
TIC...........I'd imagine there is a rule somewhere, on some book, as there are rules for everything. Check with your local friendly Traffic Police.
If there are no rules then I'm sure there is a drivers license endorsement rule that will bite you in the ass............if you ask the Police don't forget to mention the DVL aspect.............cause they probably won't.

This I would imagine is completely legal........no wheels touch the ground.

05-10-2008, 02:46 PMIn 2005 I rode down to Shanghai (from Beijing) and the guy who "rode" down with me was driving a Pajero with a trailer and his motorcycle on the trailer. The trailer had no plates and we got stopped plenty of times but nobody ever even asked about the trailer. Almost all tractor trailers are pulling a trailer (obviously) and quite a few dump trucks also pull a trailer. I've always abided by the rule, if there ain't no law against it, then it must be legal.
Regds,
Jim
