Very nice recycling of old chair! Even the Chinese would be impressed. The final result looks very good too

You're a bugger mate! Getting off your arse and doing all the things I just think about. I think I see you fixed it at the front under the pillion grab plastics by flattening the tube? Where did you fix at the rear? I was looking at mine and decided a good place would be either side down by the indicator screw on points? Assuming the frame and plastics are similar on mine, it seems to be all plastic down there though, so might have to drop something down from the frame end. Maybe I think too hard while you just do it!

Thanks Matt. I guess the strength and rigidity of your materials (and good welding) means you don't need the bracing I was thinking of (for side pannier). Of course, me being quite stupid I was working out a strut onto the back wheel-nuts area like on my pushbike, then after a bit more contemplation I realised it has suspension travel and dropped that idea for the suspended bracket from rear frame design .... I usually get there in the end, just takes me a while. Only as far as the back of an envelope so far but I just got a cheap arc welder so if I can remember how to use it (I last did welding thirty years ago) I shall create some contraption or other. I have an old pushbike, pram, washing machine, school desk, wheelbarrow and a couple of kitchen sinks in the scrap pile. Hmmm, might make a trailer for behind the m'bike while I am at it. Or maybe just watch this space until you do it first ...

Very nice fab job. I wonder if you thought about putting a pad on the upright part. That way a passenger would have a back rest...and then so would you!.
