The only way that driver can avoid being put to death for that stunt is if his father is Li Gang.

that's why I surprise to read the title. I can only guess the driver has serious trouble before and will have more after.
p.s. Li Gang's son would drive better car, the one on video isn't that class, more of desperate mind to flee (or in western psychiatry Impulse Control Disorder?).

If that is punishable by death then the act is in a way a sort of long drawn-out suicide, but instead of waking up the next day and realizing they failed, they will have to face the reality that they succeeded and forced to deal with it. What a great way to cure a narcissus, they will likely feel responsible for their own death.

I felt sorry for those police officers, but also felt grateful that China does not (yet) hand out guns to most cops. Had this guy been in America and two or three cops were nearby, there'd likely be no need for capital punishment.
