10-15-2016, 02:17 AMThe original post from Aquilegia, post number 46: http://www.mychinamoto.com/forums/sh...ll=1#post82362 has a link to his githup repository. open this link and you'll see many files listed. The only file you need is "custom_tile_sources.xml". The reason that is the only one you need is because everything else is only needed to compile the app. But Aquilegia also posted a link to his precompiled app in post number 54 http://www.mychinamoto.com/forums/sh...ll=1#post82391.
So just:
- install the app from post number 54
- Go into settings to change the data directory (where you save maps) to your SD card and note the exact path used
- copy the custom_tile_sources.xml file into this path
Now when you go to "Settings" >> "Configure Maps" >> "Map Source" >> "Install More" you have some aditional maps you can select to add to your list. The new entries for China are about 1/2 way down, you have to look for them as they are not in alphabetical order.
And Shuben, I am not sure how your question about google maps relates here. Yes the URL for google maps is maps.google.com (which then redirects to https://www.google.com/maps), butyou need a VPN to use that in China and that is not the source that Aquilegia uses in his custom_tile_sources.xml. He uses http://mt0.google.cn/vt/lyrs=m@283&h...0" rule="gcj09 but that link is useless on its own, it only works within the OsmAnd app. And it works with the offset error corrected and without need for VPN.In China: 2013 Benelli 600gs
In Canada: 1980-'85 Shovester (under construction), 1983 kz440
