Just a reminder to stay safe. Watch those sudden left turns in front of you and stupid cabbies doing sudden u-turns in the middle of the street.

06-27-2011, 06:58 AMThe first picture, on her back with the compound fractured leg, was not the rider, but his pillion.
ALL THE GEAR ALL THE TIME.
i repeat:
ALL THE GEAR ALL THE TIME.
Not that gear would have prevented that fracture. But her head would certainly be in better shape.
It's a fucking jungle out there.jkp

i saw that in other forum. The pics are disturbing.
They said the rider was wearing helmets, i see gloves on ground next to him. They said the pillion might need amputation.
Another stupid accident cause mainly by a car driver.

First up, horn, horn, horn!!! I can NOT stress the need to use the horn enough. I have to comment though that the motorcycle rider in this video, had a lane to the right of the car, and had I been that rider - I'd probably been using that option a-long with using the horn. Again I am an avid user of my 110-120db horns on all my motorcycles and car, and I use them with gusto.
It goes without saying that the motorcycle involved in the accident does not sound at all like the average China motorcycle found here in PRC, actually it sounds like 4 cylinder 4 stroke (likely a CBR400 or similar) and was being ridden at speed. Looking at the environment, I'd not be suprised if there was an element of racing or the like taking place in a deserted, well lit, industrial area, late at night. When riding or driving any vehicle read the road and all within your oval, and place yourself within it 11 seconds ahead. Ride and drive defensively. Ok, preaching over.

Jeezo, its like that in Guilin all the time , you have to be on Defence constantly, so many idiots turn in on you i cant believe, NO ONE LOOKS to see whats coming, although not at this speed shown here on the vid. take care out there, nightmare people, not the roads..........

06-27-2011, 02:34 PMKeep yourself as huge of a cushion as you can. Always assume that if there is space available for a car to do something stupid, they will indeed take that space and do so, without even the slightest glance. Hard to understand why someone was filming this desolate stretch of roadway, though this reinforces the idea that there was some hotdogging or racing going on. That rider surely suffered extremely serious injuries.
Damn.jkp
