    Nutmeg it looks like you did what I've been thinking; make your own out of aluminum bar. I'm guessing that you went 1 1/2" rather than the 1" forchetto did.

    Well, I bought the set of risers that forchetto recommended and am very pleased. Shipping was super fast, 3 days in the states, and easy installation. Very high quality and packaging. I didn't need to remove the bar pad though. I found that when I lossened the original bolts at the gas tank, the gauge side ones where just snug. When I installed the riser and new bolts I snugged up the gauge side first with the bars rotated enough to access the bolts. Then I rotated the bars to the desired position and tightened the gas tank side bolts.

    I also had installed Napoleon style bar end mirrors. They are very similar to the ones forchetto has but with a nut that expands a rubber bushing to tighten them to the bar. This reduces vibration a HUGE amount. The right mirror has no vibration with the left one only a little. I'm going to work to see if I can illiminate it there also. Here's the ones I bought;

    A little bit more expensive but well worth it for the peace of mind.

    There are plenty of 7/8" handle bar risers on Ebay. Do a search. I have these at

    but I don't know if they are the best. They are just risers.
