#1 CFmoto 650NK Oil pressure light05-17-2015, 10:50 PM
Hi all, hope this is the right place to post..
My oil pressure light comes on after the bike is fully heated up. It only comes on when at idle rpm tho.
Could this be from wrong oil ? broken sensor ?
I live in australia and im not sure what oil was put in from the last owner i'll be changing it asap. Also i'll be taking the airbox off and running pod filters as it runs hot as hell being right behind the radiator lol ?
Any suggestions are appreciatedLife's a garden, DIG IT !

05-17-2015, 11:25 PMI don't suggest pods personally - often they don't filter air well and people don't clean or use the right oil in them that catches the dirt
Change your oil and check oil pressure
Maybe you can use a gauge and screw into the like or remove the sender and try a oil pressure gauge from your local repco or supercheap for testing ?!
Too thin oil might be your issue as well as a poor pump

Mate probably there is just shitty oil and the wrong amount of it in there. Do a hot oil and filter change and put the right amount of good oil in her and you should be sweet.
I agree with NZb I doubt pod filters will help you, they'll just screw up the fuelling. Bike doesn't really run hot it's just a paranoid thermostat that comes on really easily, but check the coolant level too.

Roger that guys. I'll change the oil and oil filter asap, if that doesn't fix it ill check the pressure properly. What oil would you recommend being in australia ? 20-50 ?
Also the oil levels seem to be fine, checked when bike was stood upright, between both the markers.Life's a garden, DIG IT !

05-17-2015, 11:34 PMWhat's the manual say?
Do you have a manual?
Ask ZM888 I think it's the same bike as his and he might have a manual or info to give you

I have a .pdf manual. recomended is 15w40 but also states this on the same page.
Although 15W-40 engine oil is the recommended oil for most conditions, the oil viscosity may need
to be changed to accommodate atmospheric condition in your riding area.

05-17-2015, 11:42 PMThen use what's in the manual
The thinner you go the less pressure you tend to get
If you have low pressure go a little thicker but then it's harder to get the oil around the engine when it's cold

I use 20W50 for the Chinese summer 20-40c and I never have a problem with oil pressure on the same bike, most likely it's just oil level.
