05-12-2017, 09:24 AMHi everyone my name is Joe and I am an alcoholic. Woops wrong group. No really my name is Joe a friend is giving a df250rtr. But now I am getting a motorcycle that I know nothing about. I did how ever got to school for automotive technology. So I am half set. The only thing I need now is my license endorsement. On the other hand I never ridden a motorcycle at all or owned one. So now I need to figure out about the df250rtr. If anyone has any information about the motorcycle please let me know.

Hey Joe, what are you doing with that gun in your ..... Aeh no, you aren't Hendrix.
So, get a good helmet and gloves and biker gear first, or it might be fast your last motorcycle.
Go to an exercise ground and learn braking and curving.
Check the web for training videos for advise. .... And then you can really find something out about that bike.
After you did you can entertain us with a bike report here😁

05-12-2017, 11:32 AMIf Jimmy comes back to this world, I'll be speechless, but will eventually process it. However, if comes back and asks a question about a Chinese bike, now that'll puzzle me for life
And not to be completely off topic: it's a Chinese bike. When you get it, I assume brand new and crated, go trough as many nuts, bolts and connections as you can to check them. There will be pieces that rattle and fall of. That's inevitable like the sun rise and set. Your job is to make sure none of them is a critical component. OEM chain and tyres are most probably complete sh@t, so expect to change them in the first month or two.
These engines usually hold about a kilo, approx. one quart, of oil, so you'd better change it often. That's the easiest engine longevity insurance you can get. Since you're mechanically handy, better take off or isolate all eco- stuff on the intake and exhaust systems. Once you ride it for a season, you'll know what modifications you actually need.
