we'll have a Jialing dual sport quorum here in east China in no time. We've got Aggie in Nanjing, Pfaelzer (sometimes) in Fuzhou, and me in Shanghai. And dig this: Another friend's JH600 arrived in Shanghai today (though it's still with the freight forwarder) and yet another friend was filling in his contract this morning.

And then there were five. We'll have to start doing Thursday evening bike nights!

    Whaddaya say, bikerdoc?
My will be here in Shanghai next monday... should have been here sooner but the factory screwed something up.....Don't know what?!

Patience is a virtue I have difficulty maintaining as I was born short of it and have not improved. Add that to the cultural challenges of China being completely different and I think I can relate to where you are waiting on the bike. To be honest, mine was pretty good right out of the crate. Main problems I have had are trying to get work done on the bike locally. Pretty sure you are in better shape in Shanghai regrading that. Still, it is better the factory found any issue and fixed it there, believe me! Someday we will need to meet up for a JH600 rally for sure.

On another note of trials and tribulation, the local Nanjing government has proposed a complete ban on all motorcycles for 2014. I may have to move the factory!!!!

Then let the powers that be know that if they pass that rule, you WILL move your factory elsewhere! Another city or locality that IS biker friendly.

For the love of God, not another city!

on September 10 the Jinling evening news A3 version "City Endured Thoroughly about 2014 Ago Touches" an article already to cause the enormous dispute,
caused the dispute was this section “in front of 2014 young Olympics, limited in the good area the countryⅠCountryⅡThe standard diesel oil society vehicles and the fuel oil boost vehicle and the city motorcycle elimination finished.” In the understanding as if a little the different meanings, actually the motorcycle is the country 1 country 2 is eliminated, is eliminated all? I have related this article reporter, she also does not talk clearly, said she understood is endures thoroughly touches, but has not gone to be connected the department to try to prove, NND, such ascended, she added the title was not she, only then and so on the executive regulations came out.I also went to the newspaper office office to sue, but definitely could not have any result. Before also telephones Nanjing to hand over the administrative bureau the secretarial section, asked two police officers, do not talk clearly this matter.

At present, this so-called blue sky plan already was the official outgoing message, requests an audience Nanjing Z.F website http://site.nj.gov.cn/ck1.do?id=3440&site=njgov, definitely was unable to take back, did not know this did have the familiar legal friend, if were endures comprehensively touches, this kind affected the common people to live the big matter to need to hold the public hearing? (Although what this also doesn't have to use).

Let me know how that works out for you, maybe you can give some advice on how motorcyclists can fight a pre-ordained law from an entity that rarely listens to "the people". Are there government connected factories involved in the fight, or just common everyday people trying to voice a common sense argument.

    Cheers!

I think maybe you misinterpret my meaning of "We are fighting it as best we can here!"

Harbor no illusions that I am making any difference at all. The government will do as it sees fit. However a large local company, the Jincheng Corporation, is headquartered here and they definitely can call some shots as they will be adversely affected for sure if this ban goes through as they manufacture a lot of motorcycles. The government is not so quick to blow off one of its largest employers. I am optimistic that if any ban occurs, it will be in the center city or downtown area only. At least I can hope. The whole process has caused me to wait on opening a planned motorcycle shop on the side. That would have employed one more person but I will wait till the dust settles and see what finally falls out.
