I am new to this forum but not new to Chinese scooters.

I found this site while Googling for Xingyue owners/service manuals - still unlocated.

I have two Chinese scooters:
I bought both used, each with 1000 miles.
I have changed the oil a couple times since I got the Xingyue. Replaced the fuel/vac lines and fuel filter on the Xingyue. Replaced the coil and plug wire because the original wire had lost the retainer clip for the spark plug end. Tightened a lot of screws, Replaced the pizio buzzer horn with a 139db BadBoy horn. Cleaned the air filter. Adjusted the valves, changed jets and sliders, I need the dimension of the slide needle adjusting washers. Adjusted the throttle cable. Replaced one sight glass on the right hand brake master, and then replaced all the brake fluid in both. Put in a manual petcock. Upgraded the headlight to a 45/45W. Replaced both brake light switches with correct replacements which lasted only a few weeks so I made little brackets and used super cheap Radiotrash switches. Tire valves will be done early this season. I did the transmission/rear gear oil this weekend. I didn't find the drain bolt (which I've since read is the bottom rear case bolt), so mostly I drained it by laying the bike nearly on its side and poured the lube out from the fill hole.


On the Znen, I've had it just over 2 week now. I had to add water to the dry battery and charge it, and then the second of two brake switches quit working (same $$$6+ units that the Xingyue uses), so I got a few micro-switches $2 at Grainger and made a pair of brackets, then drained both and replaced all the brake fluid for both master-cylinders. All the hoses look good but they are a knock off of Goodyear hoses - I forgot the knockoff name. The fuel filter is installed the right way around, the air filter is clean, the belt looks good but I did blow out all the rubber dust from the CV cover. The Znen is all DC - all the lights work with the ignition on, motor not running. I think I could fit a slightly larger battery, or two smaller batteries where the battery compartment is taking up a lot of space. I think the Znen could use a new pair of front shocks. And I will keep checking and tightening bolts and fasteners as I go. The Znen has brass looking tire valves. Did the motor and rear gear oil this past weekend.
The Znen seems to have a grabby clutch. At a reasonable idle, it is trying to take off. And after shutting it off, while trying to push it backwards it is jerky or sticky.


Xingyue speedoo is inaccurate above 25mph - indicated 70 is just 50. No idea on the Znen yet.
The Xingyue has a tachometer but it is small and who knows how accurate. Znen has no tach. Ill get a couple of those lawnmower tach/hour meters.

Loads to check, plenty to do even a little at a time.
