01-09-2010, 09:14 PMHi
Anyone already tried to mount a magnetic drain sump on a pulse adrenaline 125?
Does anyone know whats the thread size of the plug?
The plug is M14x12, but I don't know if it 1,25mm or 1,5mm thread size. I tried to measure, but it's difficult to get sure because is very very small.
Thank you
Mário

I bought one from here for my Qlink XF200.

Check to be sure that your bike uses the same motor as a Suzuki DR125 (I think it does) and you should be able to find your plug. My plug did not replace the regular drain plug but a smaller one located by it.

01-10-2010, 12:13 PMThank you david3921 for your reply.
I found in eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...:X:RTQ:GB:1123
The seller told me that Suzuki usually uses 5 different sizes of plug:
M10-1.5
M12-1.25
M12-1.5
M14-1.25
M14-1.5
I'm pretty sure that my plug is M14 (because I already measured it), but I don't know if thread size is 1,25 or 1,5

01-10-2010, 10:19 PMHi again
Now I'm sure that the thread size is 1,25mm
I measured the distance of 4 threads, and I got 5mm! So the oil plug of pulse adrenaline 125 is a M14 x 1,25mm.
davidqc the plug from http://www.chinesemotorcyclepartsonl...XF125GY-2B.php is magnetic? it's a bit expensive, I'll try to find a cheaper one.
If I found it, I'll post here!
Thank you

03-25-2010, 11:47 AMHi Tim
Do you already fit it in your bike?
The site has the pulse models listed (adrenaline 125) which is my bike. The plug for adrenaline 125 is a MP02 (not the MP05).
However it is strange, because as far as I know, the Suzuki engine is similar to adrenaline 125, and for the suzuki they tell that is the MP05 and for adrenaline the MP02... I already sent an e-mail to them.
cheers

I had the problem with the thread too, so I made my own magnetic drain plug with a rare earth magnet glued onto the existing plug with JB-Weld. I keyed up both faces first with a dremmel, drilling holes for the glue. The rare earth magnet had such a strong pull on the drain plug, I doubt it will come adrift, and the JB-Weld from past experience I know is good in engine work. Incidently with the drain plug fitted one can stick a spanner to the hex head under the bike, so strong is the magnetism.
( JB-Welded a cylinder head onto a landrover engine when we blew the head gasket out in the sticks, and used the same glue many times with repairing plant engine casings.)
Yeah, there is always the possibility the glue will fail and the magnet getting itself into the oil pump, but that goes with anything bought, anything can fail and stuff up something else.'07 Pioneer Pulse Adrenaline 125, ( XF 125 GY ) Suzuki clone ; K157 FMI engine
