The Yingang has crash bars so if it fell over it would fall on them, it also has a great amount of carriers built on it. I like it a lot, I encouraged them to sell that in the USA and they are! But the Americans look away or have not really seen it yet? It is only a 200cc but for many that is enough, it only is limited by not being able to go on the interstates(highway, freeway).

The travel has to do with the bikes ability to absorb impact and that’s about going up a hill and flying into the air and landing. It also can extend if a rut is hit hard….something tells me that you are not going to be that aggressive on your off the pavement adventures…but I could be wrong?

If I was you I would just get to as many location that sell the bikes as possible, I would not rule out any until you look at them in person. Yingang seem to be very well organized….they impress me and they have many models.

seems like a lot of chinese bikes are based on the yamaha TW200..!
you're right in that i shouldn't cross anything off my list until i've seen it in person, though from the pics i definitely don't feel anything for this particular yingang model. perhaps i shall take a look into other models, and will definitely keep my eyes open for this brand when visiting dealers!

It seems to me that with the ridiculous production numbers that bike shops would be all over china? Part of the thrill is shopping for that first bike, make it last and gather information, keep practicing on the scooter meet the people in local riders club ask if you may ride some of theirs? Build some confidence and search for your perfect bike.

nice little video clip indeed, for a chinese motorcycle company. i've never seen anything like that here in china -- an attempt at actual marketing!
(too bad the rider has no riding skills! he almost crashes in one of the final sequences, sitting on his saddle while riding through sand...)

I like that kind of practical farm bike too, but agree, not a looker unless you like retro style! if you want a laugh, do the other link http://motorcycle.sh.cn/t_16805663.htm with Google translate: makes complete nonsense, starting with 'Why did the stains I was nurtured here, enjoy this kind of model suitable for motorized brigade'. And what does Ding Ding Ding have to do with it, let alone a 'push fart' ? That last sounds a bit messy. Oh well, I will find out more when I come over.
