- And by 8:00PM, we are gold! The JH is running and delivered to the new home.
- My wife, Mr. Li and I are off to dinner. I owe both of them this week.

Special kudos to Jialing for supporting me long distance and especially Mr. Li! A truly great guy. As Is stated earlier, he is scary to watch but delivers.
Also a special thanks to AW and Franki! The rear shock was perfect fit thanks to AW's R&D and the ride is great as Franki had the shock preset for my fat arse of 127 kilos! Excellent ride. Really made a difference!DT

Hey Aggie
Tx for the info!
Got me to thinking ... when my JH600 battery was dead a few weeks ago (post winter), I did a bike - bike jump with cables. JH started right up, but as soon as I removed the cables, the bike died ... strange, I thought. Jumped it again, same thing ... bike died as soon as I removed the cables. I also thought I smelled something burning, but attributed it to Beijing dust on my exhaust.
Then I bought the Mr Euph recommended battery charger, deep cycled the battery, and voila, the bike started and ran perfectly. Until I was out and about and after starting it once, running for a few seconds, the bike immediately went dead at idle (total loss of all electrical power). Hmmmm? I tried again, and it started fine and ran fine.
I'm wondering if maybe I also cooked (but perhaps only medium rare) my anti-theft module during my jump start? You've helped point me in a direction.
You and I have the same newer generation model. Not like those unfashionable "so-yesterday" guys (AW, Mr Euph & Frankie). We're hip! So, the newer gen models have the threaded shock mount?
You like the shock? Worth the price?
What I have been working on is the front suspension (a bit too spongy and a little too prone to brake-dive). I've been wondering if an extended spacer would provide enough static compression on the stock fork springs to stiffen up the front end, and maybe also increase the viscosity of the fork oil? Anyone care to comment?
Tx for the info!
Cheers

LJH,
When my anti theft module fried, it went completely dead and took the starter fuse out. Subsequent attempts to start with new fuse resulted in burning smell coming out from front of gas tank, throttle side. Similar to the smell of burning PCB and wires. If you smell this in the same area, I would be prepared to replace the module soon
The thread is in the bottom fork of the standard factory rear shock. If you go to Pfaelzers thread of My New JH600, you can see that the Wilbers replacement shock he used did not have this fork threaded. It required a nut. This led to clearance issues. (At least I think this was the root of his problems) Anyway, he stated they were working on an exact threaded replacement. This is what I bought thru Franki. It seems to be perfect fit. I will ride this weekend and confirm for sure but first test last night was very good. Expensive as hell but I think it was worth it. Especially since no real modifications were required by me to make it fit. HUGE difference for me int he ride so far. Course my 128 kilos pushes the limits of any bike including my R1200GSA back in Texas.
I also bought new front fork springs and oil with Franki's help but have not installed them yet. It is hard to work on the bikes in our basement common garage. Security guys were going nuts last night doing what we did but I had the excuse of a known dead ride and had the mechanic come from 100 miles away to fix it. I promised to tow it away before morning if we failed. After we handed out some cigarettes, we were given a chance to fix and were successful. I did not push my luck with oil going everywhere trying to replace the front fork springs last night. To be fair, if the garage was not monitored like this, I am totally convinced it would become a nasty disaster of chaos and shit. Parking spots are paid for dearly here so the property management takes care of them. I can only imagine what they cost in Beijing! We paid RMB150,000 for each spot when we moved in. I justify it by knowing I can sell them later. Anyway, Mr Li tells me the front forks come from Japan and they have few issues with them in the stock form. I will ride with the Wilbers rear only for now and see how the bike handles until I find a spot I can change the front out in a sane environment.DT

Yup, that was the smell ... damn, I guess I fried it.
OK, maybe I will splurge ... although I am a svelte 120 kilos, I better plan for the future.
It will be interesting to hear your review after you've installed them. By the way, what's with Franki? He seems to have disappeared? Is he in the USA right now touring around with my handy-dandy Beijing clothing supplier, Mr. Yu? (If you want VERY inexpensive riding clothing, but great quality - talk to him - Franki turned me on to that guy).

Franki is off living the life the rest of us dream to live! I still have not figured how he found a way to pay for it but hats off to him!
If your Mr. Yu has XXXFat and Tall USA size clothes and size 13.5 -14 US size boots, I would love to deal with him. I enjoy going to the Nanjing Golden Eagle mall and telling the shops that I will buy everything they have that fits me off their shelf at double their asking price. In almost 7 years, I have yet to lose! Great fun to see the looks on their faces when I try on the stuff they jsut know will fit and I look like 10 lbs of potatoes in a 5 pound bag. I even have difficulty in the USA buying my size gear. Does he have web site?

I agree - Franki works hard at promoting biking in China - a thankless job.
When Franki was up in Beijing last year, he took me over to Mr Yu's shop. Mr Yu runs a reputable shop with very high quality gear at unbeatable prices (he is supposed to be wholesale only). And yes, he sometimes gets XXX sizes and monster boots. We (foreigners) are starting to bug him, so I think he will carry more. Mr Yu is also active with the China Choppers motorcycle club.
His website is ...

If you see something you like, I can be your Beijing contact. I'm often at his shop. I think he also has a taobao shop, but I'm not sure.
By the way, he is selling his personal 2001 BMW R1150GS ... asking 58K, but said he'd sell it to me for 50K. I know the bike, it is a good one, and it is a good price. Here's his ad ...

Also has his telephone number in the ad. But as he is away (in the USA), only his lovely wife is in the shop these days. Chinese language only.

Excellent! I will check out the website.
As for the GS, When you see him, ask him if he would be interested in trading for a 2010 JH600 Euro style plus some cash!DT

Campboss,
I had my wife call the contact telephone number from their website and she talked directly to them. She is Chinese so it was not difficult for her. You might try calling direct from the Philippines?
(+8623)65193370、65193371
(+8623)65194103、65192772
I simply went to the website below for the above numbers.
