03-14-2011, 02:47 PMAfter reading about China V swapping out his spiked pegs to rubber foot pegs and eliminating the road vibrations I started checking around to find me a set for my bike. What I found was very expensive rubber mounted pegs in excess of $100.00 per set. So I decided to find a cheaper way and went to my local auto parts store here in Florida and found two replacement rubber clutch or brake cover pads. I took a gamble and bought two which I layed on top of my existing metal pegs and after drilling a few small holes to run zip ties through the top of rubber pads and attaching to the peg structure underneath it was looking good. They measure 2 1/4" x 3 1/4" and look good. It looks like a factory foot peg pad and actually has almost twice the area for your foot to sit which my size 11 feet appreciate. My mod also lets the peg fold up and spring back out just like it was origionally designed to do. I think everyone can find the rubber pad covers no matter what country you are from just try to get as close to the sizes I used for a perfect fit. The other good thing is if you decide to go back to spiked pegs two snips with cutters and you are back to stock pegs and vibrating again. Have fun!!

03-14-2011, 04:00 PMDear Larry,
Welcome to MCM, and that's what I call two excellent first posts! The bike looks fantastic. Given your artistic and enterprising bent, you might want to have a look at another recent thread where we've been kicking around ideas for MCM patches and stickers....
Would love to see more pix of your bike, and hear about what all you do with it and where!
It's a great forum and industrious guys like you make it even better.

03-15-2011, 03:00 AMThanks for the compliment. In these times you have to be very frugal to be able to have toys. I always try to buy my parts on the cheap and do most of the wrenching myself.
A dollar saved is a dollar towards the next hop up part.

Andrew,
The store I got mine from is Advance Auto Parts and they are everywhere in Florida. The website
http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...AMS_1495973704____ is to look up part.
You can find a store and call them to order I am sure.
The store has a section with misc. car parts such as door handles, switches and car interior parts and that is where I found the pads. The company name on package is HELP and the part number is #20753 Brake and clutch pedal pad. I am sure any parts store would have something similar but this is a perfect fit over spiked peg. Glad I could help.

03-16-2011, 06:10 PMAndrew, I some how got the part number incorrect and have corrected origional posting to read # 20753. I went on Advanced Auto site and punched up 20753 in the search window and Shazam! there was the pad. Couldnt get much easier. They will also ship them anywhere from website orders which will make the asian guys happy. Truth be known they probably are manufactured in China and can be found in the local parts store in China area.
