Never seen an old Triumph with disk brakes fore and aft. These guys who think these Chinese bobbers (Heist and DF) are old Triumphs are not very motorcycle savvy. Happens to me on my DF and I just roll my eyes.

05-23-2011, 11:55 AMGot a lot of ride time in this weekend now that the weather finally broke. I'm definitely more comfortable riding now.
Couple of pics:

Nice pics mate, worked out well in the end and I hope it continues for you (i assume that is bro wiht you?)
But why is a SWAT van waiting quietly in the background up the road? You guys started a Heist Outlaw gang or something?Kinlon R/T KBR JL200GY-2

05-23-2011, 01:20 PMyeah that's my brother with me.
I noticed that truck on our tail for a while :D
I ordered the G and D exhaust today after talking with Scott via email. He said it should make the bike run better than stock and no need to rejet the carbs, we'll see.
PS, I'm not angry in those pics, just had the sun in my eyes, haha

05-23-2011, 02:10 PMThe motorbike wave -- the simple lifting of the clutch hand off the bar long enough to point generally in the direction of a passing biker -- is something I really miss about riding in the US. Though it rarely happens here in China, I exchanged waves a few days ago in Hongqiao with a guy on a very noisy H-D Sportster 883. Now that gave me a little thrill, since in the US it's the rare H-D rider who waves to anyone but other Hardley riders.

never heard of this form of acknowledgement in the UK we give a slight nod to the side to show we have seen each other occassionally we'll stop at the same stop point and have a chat about bikes in general and how much trouble there is with living in theUK nowadays and how its driving people out and which has lead me to plan to leave the UK after university. in general its mostly the pure superbioke riders who dont do this as they are only on the road to enjoy riding and not others company aswell.

Great pics! Awesome to get some miles in eh?
The G&D pipe is great. I've got the long pipe. What a difference it makes. I did rejet my carb however.
FYI - Right now I'm running 102 main, 45 pilot and washer under the needle. No pops, starts instantly with no choke and runs like a champ.

05-23-2011, 03:06 PMKennon, the left hand wave is extremely common between motorcyclists in California, and I'm guessing so elsewhere in the US. The fact it's less common in the UK could be due to the fact that you guys ride on the wrong side of the road, meaning that you'd have to wave with your right hands, which is impractical (unless your brake and clutch levers are backwards too). When we north americans pass in opposite directions, it's easy to just lift your clutch hand off the bar and point, a very subtle gesture but it's like a secret handshake.
