Hi, Hi ni hao everyone?!

Thanks so much for your concern. I am doing perfect except for an ankle issue. I have much to catch up on but I'm in Hong Kong after my bike quit on me in several ways. I'm making my way to the airport tomorrow where I suspect I will have quite some time to share my story and some photos.

Looking forward to it and ultimately, I just posted this to share that Carl was SPOT-ON about the phenomenal banana milkshakes at Pete's Tex and Mex in Chengdu. Wow. What a picker-upper.

So pleased to hear from you, and mightily impressed that you MANAGED TO DRIVE THAT GALAXY 250 TO SMITHEREENS! Holy shit! Those bikes are not indestructible but you trashed yours in just a matter of weeks! And only hurt your ankle...

thank you for asking, my name is Szu-ting Yi (but you can call me Ting Ting). Christine and I went our separate ways for various reasons. Basically I did my ride from Kunming to almost Xining. About 300 kilometers south of Xining on Route 214, the engine of the bike fried. So I hitched a ride to the next town (about 23 kilometers) and got a Tibetan mechanic to bike up to retrieve my bike; however, they didn't have parts so I flagged down another truck to take me and the bike to Xining. I could have waited at Xining for the parts but I had a work contract coming so I shipped back the bike to Galaxy and toured the Qinghai Lake by bus and bicycle and now I'm back in the States but will go to China to work for another month. Basically my motorcycle journey ended in a small car (I have to hide in a small car the truck carried because it's illegal for truck drivers to take up passengers) on a big truck staring at my bike.

I'll start another thread to report my ride but currently I'm writing a Chinese one on Chinese motorcycle forums as I promised Galaxy to do so. the Chinese one is here (http://www.moto8.cn/viewthread.php?t...uthorid=411659) but I still have many days to report. As I am going to work for a month soon on coming Wed, it might take me some time to report. Please be patient! In the meantime please enjoy Christine's amazing photos.

I have the good fortune of being able to read Chinese, so I visited your thread in Moto8 forum. Excellent pictures and writing. Enjoyed it. However, just can't stop wondering about your frame of mind when you first decided to launch your grand motorcycle tour of Tibet without any prior experience of motorcycling but a couple of motorcycle "classes" under your belt and a brand new over-sized motard in a totally strange landscape.
