Yeah, keep it stock for a while and then go slow on the mods.

On my Df I changed the main jet, added a washer under the needle, changed the handlebars and the mirrors which didn't really need changing, added a tool roll and some tools, added a saddle bag for rain gear and odds and ends and added a baffle to quite down the exhaust.

600+ miles in 2 days on my Heist had her on I87, I90, I84 as well as the Toconic and a good run up and down 9N and NY 8 through the mountains, no tail of teh dragon but some nice twisties and bends and a lake thrown in for some fun.
Got hit with a monsoon on our way back to Mom's place, my jacket must weigh 80lbs now, I was soaked from head to wheels. The Widow held up great and outperformed even my expectations and the oldman's.
I have tons of Pics and Video, that I need to sort out, none coming home memory cards were full and the rain and cameras dont play well together. What a great time and tomorrow we have another run to do.
Oh and my bike garnered soooooo much attention and love.
    Heres a shot for now

Yeah, i might have to change the handle bars for comfort sake since I'm 6'. When I sat on it they hit my knees on sharp turns but I may just be able to adjust them forward a bit.

    Dear Pete,

CCW site lists six dealers in California alone, and this does not include a MCM member from Vegas who liked his Heist so much he set up a franchise (or was that the Dongfang bobber?) I've tried finding his posts, but the Heist thread is now so voluminous it wore me out! Can someone else help?

    cheers

Sounds like a great ride, Gardo! Looking forward to a full RR with pix and vids! Glad you got the widow off the turnpikes for a bit of fresh mountain air.

I'm the Vegas CCW dealer. I don't use this forum to sell but can answer any questions anyone might have. I own a fully stock Heist, and a (almost)fully modified heist. I almost bought a DF but had a bad experience with the local reseller in Vegas. Gardo talked me into my heist, and it was a life changing decision. Absolutely LOVE it...

Anyone here know what size apes are on the "Captin Jhonny, tha Ape Hanger" bike on CCW's site? I sat on a guy's Heist with 15"ers but I'm not sure I want to quite that tall. They look great though.
