Thanks for the link to "OldBikebarn.com. I didn't know about them. I do have a CCW "Demo" bike that can be used for the Rider's training classes at my local HD dealership in Las Vegas. Two riders(plus myself) have received their endorsments on a Heist here in the Valley. I sorta had to get involved with them as I cannot sell/release a vehicle to anyone who does not have an endorsement. It's a good class, and I have a discount worked out with them for anyoe who register's for the class through my shop.

hey all, my name is moe, i'm from louisiana. i just recieved my DF bobber yesterday. everything was in good shape, even the box and the pallet. this is my first bike ever, and i've read all 100 pages of this thread, and you guys sure took all the guess work out of what to modify performance wise. i haven't taken a ride yet cause i'm waiting on my paperwork which should be arriving tuesday. i definitely plan on doing some mods to the bike, but i think i'm going to ride it and break it in first. i bought my bike from scooter depot, haven't had any problems with them yet. has anyone heard of killer motorsports in texas? they also sell this bobber, and in the description on thier youtube video for it they are forthcoming about the bike only doing 55mph but say they have a sprocket that will bring you up over 100mph. i asked if could order the sprocket from them and they said yes, it costs $79.99 and is a custom sprocket they designed specifically for this bike, i don't know how true that is but it might be worth looking into. so as i've read my bike doesn't exist without a picture, so here's the proof.mybike 001.jpgmybike 002.jpg

    moe,
Welcome to the world of Chinese bobber ownership. Good idea to ride the bike for a while instead of starting the mods right away. Almost looks like your bike came with a different set of handlebars.

There is no way that a change of the rear sprocket would increase the top speed of the DF250RTB to 100 MPH. Killer Motorsport's description of the bobber is full of mistakes such as 250cc, ABS brakes, etc. I find it hard to believe that they would take the bike out of the crate and do a "free PDI". Might want to stay away from them.

Anyway I would recommend installing a 35 tooth rear sprocket from
    http://www.oldbikebarn.com/Motorcycl...?search=JTR279
after you have ridden the stock bike for a while.

Seems that the bikes are coming with a 105 main jet now and if that is the case in your bike then you don't need to change the jetting. Check to see what is installed in your bobber before ordering any jets.

Keep us informed on you experience with the bike.

    Motorcycle gear/rpm/speed calculator

You might want to do some calculations, before you spend that much money.

100 mph ? Off a cliff, maybe. Remember, it is only a 229cc engine...

I bought my bike from Scooter Depot as well..This is the second bike I have purchased from them..my first was a basic 150cc scooter. never had any problems with them.
I looked into the Killer Motorsports offer. They are higher priced, and only offer a standard 3 month warranty..were as scooter depot offers a 6 month. I opted for the 1 year warranty for a few bucks more.still came out about $75 more than waht killer offers..and a better deal. I am waiting for mine to arrive.
Again i want to thank all of you on this thread for all the insight on this bike..it has helped out quite alot..I just am getting antsy for it to show up.. hope it gets here soon...I ordered it on 8/19 and they said 7 to 10 days...It took about the same for my 150cc scooter to arrive..so I know they are on the mark. Hooliganboy, glad to hear that everything landed at your door in great shape..keep us posted on everything. The more info on here the better for all of us.I will do the same once mine arrives. everyone have a safe and happy riding day.\m/

Congrats on this thread breaking the Ton.

I ordered my JT sprockets from one of my regular distributors and they retailed for about $15-front & $30-rear. They're older Honda sprockets... nothing exclusive to DF.

Anybody got the stock handle bars for the DF250RTB( preferably in flat black) that they want to sell? I left mine in Florida. I want to rig up some bar end turn signals. the bars I have now have a seam blocking the insertion of the bar ends. .

Anyway, PM me with your price and estimated shipping to Vincent Santamaria 515 Huffman Creek Rd. Robbinsville,NC 28771
I can send you a check or do Paypal.
    Thanks

    Vince,

I've got a set of chrome bars if that will work. $20 + shipping sound fair?

    Robbinsville? Been there many times.

So what happens when a thread turns over 1000 posts?

This one is #999, but it's barnone's thread, so let's leave the honor to him!

(That way if the servers crash, it's his fault....)

    cheers!
