So does that mean Pal's not invited? Sorry Pal but you could be nicer in the forum, almost everything you say has some negative tint to it. I can't imagine you're like that in real life.

Edit: And actually their frappucino's are lovely. Their coffees shit tho you're right.

yea it was raining. I think that was the plan to trap us there all day. We just hung out there. No riding.

Sorry to hear your saying maybe about tonight. I think a lot of people would really like to meet you. In the flesh as it were.

Reminds me of something a hyper-intelligent being said recently

Mr.Clegg: "you know what God did with maybes?"
    Mrs. Clegg: "No"
    Mr. Clegg: "Exactly"

Love it when god screws up!

As for tonight's event, anyone who is predisposed to meet Lulu and a posse of other local MCM members, and quaff a bit of malt-based Belgian tipple, is welcome to join us. As it happens, we're crashing a soft opening event at a new establishment launched by a buddy of mine called Kaiba Tap Room. I've told my buddy, Rudy, that we are considering his fine (albeit nascent) Tap Room as a possible venue for future (No-)Bike Nights, and, hence, urged him not to spend a lot on fine china. Not that we are like all those other biker posses (the "pussy posses" that meet at Starbucks but don't ride)....

    You're invited too, Pal!

    Tonight's details:

Dear Beer Lovers and Kaiba VIPs,

We have some exciting news and a very special invite only event.

Please join us on Monday August 29th from 8:00pm to 10:00pm
for a complementary beer tasting and sneak peek at our news addition
Kaiba Tap House @ Taikang Terraces - This is all part of our soft opening to help us get ready
for our grand opening in September.

For this night only we will be sharing some of our newest additions to our beer menu as well
as a few special beers that we are just sharing with friends.

    When: Monday August 29th 8:00pm until 10:00pm
    Where: Kaiba Tap House
    Dress Code: Beer Drinking Smart

    Address: Please See Image Below
Room 202, Taikang Terrace, 169 Jianguo Zhong
(past 171, head east from the corner of Ruijin Lu towards Sinan Lu)

About Kaiba Tap House - Our newest location will remain focused on fine Belgian Beers as well as craft beers from around the world.
However there are a few differences about this location - it is a little larger, has a larger selection on Draught Beers and
when our kitchen opens we will have a wider selection of food for beer pairings. ( The food will come later after our grand opening )

Please help and RSVP by email so we can be prepared with enough beer and snacks. We hope to see you soon.

    Thanks for all your support!

    Kaiba! Open Please!
Please PM or text me at 18621893372 if you are keen to come but haven't registered already.

EDIT: Some of us, including Lulu, are looking to scare up a meal before heading to Kaiba Tap Room, and all and sundry are welcome to join us for that too. Alas, we've yet to select a venue, and are open to suggestions!

    cheers!

I'm pleased to say that after one false start, MCM Shanghai did manage to put on a warm (and beery) welcome for Lulu, the intrepid newbette from Chongqing who a few months ago, on only her fourth day as a motorcyclist, set off on an epic tour of China on a 100cc Lifan with a Kiwi she'd only met weeks earlier.

I'm happy to report that Lulu is the real deal -- a fun-loving, tough-as-nails rider who couldn't tarry in Shanghai because she was setting off on her second epic ride around China, this time as a Lifan-sponsored rider on a bike-launch tour. I'm hoping she'll find time to post about that ride, which I think she said she's doing on a "big bike" -- a 125cc!

Though we'd all agreed to meet at the soft opening of a swank Belgian beer tap room in Shanghai's somewhat touristy TianZiFang zone, the cheapskates among us thought it best to tank up (and eat) beforehand. Felix arrived first and stumbled on a Dongbei dumpling diner that fit the bill perfectly. The dumplings were savory and the beers were cold and plentiful.

That's guest of honor Lulu in green. The full crowd, clockwise from front left, are Euphonius, MotoKai, guest Cindy who was born on a 125cc scooter in central Taiwan, Corporal_Clegg, MissRose, Lulu, Clark Kent aka Felix and Milton.

M'Rose, fresh from her 20-spills-a-day excursion through Zhejiang as Clegg's crash-test pillion, entertained us with multicolored bruises that exactly matched the frilly trim on her fancy trousers.

Wow -- two Shanghai social gatherings in a single (extended) weekend! Hope this is the start of a trend!

By the way, if anyone made pix at Kaiba, please post up!

    cheers!
