#1 The rummored Shineray X5 is coming09-28-2011, 03:55 PM
The much rumoured Shineray X5 has been much discussed for the pass 2 years and no one has seen the real thing except the CAD drawings as above..... until now. It is schedule to made its debute at the Canton Fair and a PR event in Chongqing mid Oct. The sample bike is now being assembled in factroy and the photos are of the motorcycle in incomplete mode. However, it is good to see something close to the drawings are already in mass production. How will it perform? My believe is, it is just like any other Chinese made motorcycles. So don't get your hopes up too much.

Hey Franki at least the Chinese motorcycle manufacturers are heading in the right direction ?Ok I admit there a long way behind but so was Japan a while ago.
I hope they copy the XR 400 work horse reliability. That was one of the best bikes I had did everything.
When are you coming up to Xinjiang next ?

I doubt that this will pass EU3 emissions. Off road export only?

09-29-2011, 01:41 AMNice looking bike and would be wonderful if it were available in China to fill the gap between the many choices of 125cc, 200cc and 250cc bikes (including some that are still working on China3 compliance) and the two domestic mid-displacement bikes (Jialing JH600A and Chunfeng/CFMoto 650NK).
But I share the doubts of many here about whether this Shineray X5 will be registrable under the China3 rules or Euro3 rules, as ZMC888 notes. What does that leave? Latin America, Africa and parts of Asia, maybe Russia and Central Asia?
That sure does look like a carburetor in those images. Is it possible that a carbed bike could be engineered to meet C3 or Euro3 emissions restrictions?
cheers!jkp

Australia doesn't yet have such restrictions on emission yet.
One of the top selling bikes Suzuki DRZ400 passes. But that is what it is competing against.
No brainer which one to choose.Pick up a low Klm second hand DRZ for probably alot cheaper than a new Shinerary.
Hey Crazy Carl remember a couple of years back I said EFI will be on all motorcycles whether we like it or not.
