After coming back from the trip I've been busy working to make up for lost time and relieve the financial pain in my wallet a bit. Furthermore the pain in the ass, time/energy consuming looking for another apartment! So I guess it's about time to start posting some photos/experiences of my trip.
Day 1 - Shenyang -> Tongyu - 418 KM
After walking up and down some dusty location with loads of transport companies looking for the one that received my bike. Followed by unpacking the bike and installing the windshield, mirrors and panniers and next packing our crap and getting gas. By the time this was all the done and we were ready to leave it was already 12:00.
We had initially planned to try to get to Baicheng which is even further than Tongyu, so we just kept going and barely stopped. Somewhere in Jilin province:

400 clicks on day one - after lunch! I can see how that'd leave you sore. How'd the passenger hold up? This sounds like a great trip - looking forward to reading the updates!
(And you're moving away from Dongzhimen? What part of town you headin to?)

Day 4 - Xin ba er hu zuoqi -> Bei'er hu and back - 118 KM (95% off-road)
The bridge on the way to the lake!
No bridge, no problem for blue bikes!
Finally, the lake!
On the way back. A cow blocking my way, uhh water.

Great photos Barry, keep em coming! Good thing you had a blue bike for all those river crossings. Did it make it all the way across the lake?
How comfortable is the jialing for two up riding?

Agree. Awesome photos Barry. Sorry we couldn't cross paths in Nei Menggu somewhere.
Also, I didn't realize you were 2-up! Makes that river crossing even more interesting (did someone swim over first?)
Felix - you seem JH-curious! Well, invitation is always out there to ride a Black Beast (no Blue bikes in Shanghai, although given these pics...it's just a matter of time!). Give a shout._____________________

See the rocks piled up just ahead of your bike?
If you had a BLACK bike, it would be easy to use that pile of rocks as a launching ramp to jump over the river.
Alas, a blue bike has to find a surface crossing down stream.
EDIT - I forgot to mention that if you had a "B" you can just float across, using the bucket-pontoon for buoyancy.
