I never saw a fire fighter bike before
Meanwhile it is possible to register big bikes in Shanghai. They are able to get you "A" and "C" plates.
A = everywhere in the city - very pricey though
C= not within the inner (?) ring road
To the best of my knowledge and info from the importer.Andy

Strange that they have not opened in Guangdong.
#1 Just as many, if not more, wealthy people than the other locations.
#2 A much longer riding season than the other locations.
#3 Proximity to Hong Kong and Zhuhai which have very active motorcycle communities.
I would buy one tomorrow if I was confident that I could get it registered here.
Thanks for the info Andy
Cheers!

Are the Shanghai addresses above still good. I would like to go by and visit one of the Shanghai BMW dealers in October.

Thanks, I will have the wife call and confirm directions while we are in Shanghai. She is local Chinese so she has no issue with the language but she does not understand my motorcycles so I thought I would do a little ground work. I am also looking to see if the Ducati store is open.
My JH600 is OK but I miss the GSA I have in the USA. I am going to look a little harder at maybe getting another 800GS or the new dual sport Duc for next year here in China in spite of the ridiculous pricing.

Just thought I'd share a price update on a couple of BMW models I'm considering... the single cylinder G650GS (no ABS) is 元99000 incl. tax/fees while the G650GS (ABS) is 元136,200. Meanwhile the twin cylinder F650GS (ABS) (detuned 800cc) is 元198,000 incl. taxes/fees. These prices are out-the-door (just have to pay the applicable license plate and insurance).

RMB99K is looking better and better. It is surprising how one can go from "no way" to "well maybe" to "what the hell"! I may have to sell my CJ750 and the JH600 and cough up the difference to go with something reliable. I like to ride them more than I like to work on them.

Ditto... I'm justifying the 元99000 to myself (though I'd like the security of ABS but not at the price asked), with the mantra that at the end when I'm done and dusted with this place that it should be quite easy to sell the G650GS given that the majority of those for sale on other websites e.g. taoba0 are either non-existent or are illegal and if they do come with plates they are also illegally gained. This will help hold up the inflated prices. My other option is to import a brand new F800GS which I'm trying to win at auction, and if I can get it at the right price - then that's what I will do. If I'm not successful in my bid then I will buy the G650GS at the lower price.
Suffice to say that I've watched the JH600 from the sidelines, and it I'm sorry to say that it hasn't impressed (though I was hoping that it would).
