11-18-2008, 08:55 PMThe engine looks very much like a clone of the XV250 Yamaha Virago.
The Yamaha OEM part number for the clutch cable is 2UJ-26335-01-00
The Zongshen OEM part number for the clutch cable is 72600-M213-0100
I wouldn't take this as Gospel though. If you can get near a xv250 and see if the end fittings and overall length are about right or take your Zongshen cable into a Yamaha spares shop and compare.Jincheng Monkey JC50Q-7

The other option would be to actually buy it from ZongShen in the US.

I hear they have parts and are actually selling them.

11-21-2008, 06:21 PMhey thanks dude. I am guessin that the part number u got is different for eu models? my book shows the same part number, except ending with "0000" this wasnt just a typo i suspect. I am going to order one today from ZA, I had hoped to avoid that since they are NOT the most organized bunch, I have to conclude. I am going to write an updated post on my experience with the 3 Zongshen bikes I bought this year. thanks again for the help!

11-21-2008, 07:05 PMI've checked the parts list I have and the bike model is quoted as LZX250-5(EC), note the (EC) for European Community, I cant think what difference that would make to the clutch cable.
I have several technical documents for Zongshen bikes. One of them (the Service manual) for the LZX-200GY (AKA: Zipstar, QLink Sierra) is available on this thread:

11-22-2008, 03:50 PMwell, after talking to the dimwits that work at ZA (not sure of their hiring practices, I am assuming that they must not pay much) I have decided to just go ahead an order a yamaha cable, if it dont fit I will just eat the $17 they want for the XV250 cable. I looked at some pics and it looks close in terms of design. ZA wants $19+$12 UPS to ship it. Further, I dont think the Zongshen cables are very good quality. This one snapped with around 1000 miles on it, and had been properly lubed/adjusted. As far as the Storm goes, it is by far the best designed/built Zongshen of the 3 that I bought. (Sierra and Sport model being the other 2). I have since sold the Sierra, and been steadily trying to get the sport model sold, but it keeps falling apart! Speedo, (first the guage, then the cable/hub counter), headlight and headlight "holder" retainer clip assembly, various nuts and bolts falling off the thing, I still dont have it ready to go. Finally got it inspected/signed off by CHP, but still no plate b/c the bill of sale from Lewpack International isnt adequate b/c it dont contain the phrase "signed under penalty of perjury" un-f******-real, ?

They want 12 bucks to ship it? Fuggin' what? They could roll it up and stick it in a priority envelope for under 10 bucks and it would get to you in 2 days!!!
Oh well. I happen to have access to an XV250 so if you need some basic measurements then let me know.
Paz,
