From what I read, the device monitors the signal from the sensors, it allows you to see the map, which is basically a spread sheet.
The map would have default values and then those would be affected by inputs from the various sensors. Your goal would be to access the default values and (+/-) those, where the problem occurs.
The problem with these or this device is it requires knowing what model bike it is on, my best guess would be that GX650 BMW single would be close, but you would need to inventory all the parts and compare them.
It is possible they are identical and only the default settings differ and also the variances, as changes based on sensor inputs. Those variance would be based on specification provided from Jialing to Bosch and I bet that they are not 100% accurate, in fact they are likely too flattering to the engine.
I do not think they override or overlay, they only allow access to the baseline settings.
As far as the cam sensor, they may have been optimistic on the play in that over time? It may be one variable that is part of the problem, but that is timing not related to the fuel injectors. Some systems do both others do not? Basically some are or have the CDI integrated and some do not.
The timing based on the position of the crank and with consideration of the cam, to much variance and it may not fire? Or may advance it or retard it. Is that what is called variable timing, kind of sort of like it maybe, it may also be affected by the other sensors.
As you ride the device offer a gauge, it tells you what the injectors are at when the problem occurs, then you go back to the table and see the defaults related to that (rpm or throttle position) and adjust the baseline for that scenario .

Isn't the design of the JH600 inspiered by some Cagiva or Aprilia...maybe the engine as well?
Maybe a dig in this direction get's a lead about compatible parts for swaping...
Who believes the AVL / BOSCH crap anyhow? They not develop always everything new, they take stuff out of their shelf and "modify/customize" it, but I dont believ that the hardware is unique to the Jialing.

As I explained to Jeff in one of our private correspondences, any device like a Power Commander is just an override device.
It basically takes over the function of the onboard ECU.
This means that the PC works with pre-set maps (most bike models have several maps available, depending the popularity), which can further accessed for fine tuning.
I however don't think this will work for a Jialing:
1. PC probably never heard about Jialing,
2. PC will not have fuel/injection maps available for Jialing,
3. As we can not access the ECU of Jialing, we can not "lift" the fuel map and use as a base setting on the PC,
4. There is no opportunity for tuning in SH (you need a test bank and a lot of knowledge for this)

PS. What I don't understand however is that I hear for months already, that there is a Bosch engineer responsible for the JL software, here in SH.Still no one contacted him, and fed him food, spirits and girls??

Or you could ask the people at Dynojet if they can lift the map of the ECU. You could offer to send them one and then pay for the map and then load it into the power commander?
If it is a Bosch ECU they may be able to do that, they did it for the GS650 which is a Bosch EFI no?

The JH600 design is attributed to AVL, with an assist from Bosch, but it certainly mimics the Cagiva and Aprilia in appearance. As for the engine, it's probably pretty similar to the single in the BMW G650GS, and it's very possible the EFI system is the same or nearly the same. That does not mean the mapping will be the same. And bear in mind that even between the 2009-2010 and 2011 models, Jialing dropped the camshaft position sensor, thus eliminating that piece of data from the flow of data being processed by the ECU. So there remain many variables to address.
We continue to press Jialing to do the right thing for all JH600 owners, whether the pre-2011 JH600 models or the current JH600A models or sidecars, and provide ECE maintenance support as does every other manufacturer of EFI bikes.

Interesting strategy, and I'd love to see a bunch of Angelenos leaping to our defense. Occupy Chongqing! Occupy Jialing!
I remember reading that LATimes reviewer's column about the JH600, and this did positively influence my buying decision. I frankly doubt we'll see any responses to your posts, but I'd love to be proved wrong.
I think there is scope to try to engage some other columnists south of the border, in Brazil, perhaps, where the JH600 is just being launched this month under the Jialing-owned Traxx brand. Traxx seems to be a major foray into the international market for Jialing, which up to now has shown it does not give a rat's ass about its own domestic market. Hmmm.
