    Registration of a New Vehicle

Most new vehicles that are purchased from licensed dealerships will be registered by the dealer. However, there may be instances where an individual may register a new vehicle.
Any individual requesting a new registration at the DMV is required to be present at the branch office to process their transaction. If the vehicle is going to be registered two names, the primary registrant must be present.

The following documents will be required in order to register a new vehicle:

    • Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin assigned by dealer to new owner, listing any lien holders.
    • Federal Odometer Statement.
    • Bill of Sale issued by dealership.
    • Application for Registration and Certificate of Title (form H-13). Sales tax information must be completed on the application.
    • A current Connecticut Insurance Identification Card, which can be obtained from your insurance company. The insurance card must be in the name of registered owner(s) of vehicle. If vehicle is being leased, the insurance card may be in the name of the lessee.
    • Identification will be required to register a vehicle. Please see list of Acceptable Forms of Identification.
    • Fees vary by type of vehicle.

Note: Vehicles cannot be registered if delinquent property tax or parking tickets are owed or if the registrant has had his/her registration privilege suspended.

IN ORDER TO REGISTER A MOTORCYCLE IN CONNECTICUT, IT MUST FIRST BE INSPECTED IF ALL OF THE FOLLOWING APPLY:

    • The motorcycle was purchased/obtained from a person or business that is not a Connecticut licensed dealer; AND

    • The manufacturer of the motorcycle does not have a manufacturer’s license in Connecticut. (You may check the manufacturer’s license status in an Excel Spreadsheet or in a PDF document); AND

    • The motorcycle was never previously registered in Connecticut. This is to insure that the motorcycle meets minimum equipment and safety standards in this state. The Wethersfield inspection lane will handle all inspections of this type. If your motorcycle passes the inspection, there is a $10.00 administrative fee in addition to the fee for registration. If you have questions you may call 860-263-5080. At this time the hours for the Wethersfield lanes are:

    Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

You missed this paragraph. Open the PDF file and see that the Dongfang and or dealer or Mfg. is NOT listed. Hence you are "invited" to leave the MVD. (they refuse to inspect the motorcycle).

I tried three different times. I now own a motorcycle I cannot register in this state. The shipping $$$ kills any hope of out of state sale.

Of course the sunny sports dealer refuses to take it back. In the spring, I am going to attempt to sell it to a dealer in Maine.

Gardo... Do you see if CCW is on the CT. list ? There is a dealer in the state, but I have no idea if he has sold any HEISTs yet.

So these states require a fee to get a manufacturing license? Fucking bureaucrats.

"A check in the amount of $2,300 made payable to: "DMV" " from http://www.ct.gov/dmv/cwp/view.asp?a=799&q=260368

I don't see CCW on the list. What name are the CCW bikes manufactured under?

My god, I hope there is some way to work this out with your state. It would break my heart to separate me & my bike. Have you considered the back door, with a state senator?

I would take Scooter Depot to small claims court and file fraud on them then, if you cannot legally register the bike in a state that they claim is legit they need to take that shit back.

Cleveland CycleWerks bikes are Legal in all 50 States, some states they are listed with QLINK. The after sales support is top notch, and the growing community is just as passionate as you DF guys. lots of mods and custom jobs with the Heists. plus there is a growing amount of CCW specific after market stuff.... I could go on but Barnone might get mad at me lol.

Has to be inspected…not cannot be inspected.

“IN ORDER TO REGISTER A MOTORCYCLE IN CONNECTICUT, IT MUST FIRST BE INSPECTED IF ALL OF THE FOLLOWING APPLY;”

All three criteria must be true, apposed to any one being false. If any are false then the vehicle does not need to be inspected.

    Gardo,
Are the CCW bikes really legal in 50 states if they don't appear on the CT lists? You might need to reconsider your signature line.

As a mouth piece for CCW and since you seem to know all the inside information, can you tell me how CCW uses Qlink as a manufacturer in CT? Sounds a little illegal to me.

Or does CCW actually manufacture anything? Do they just re-badge bikes from Qlink, etc.?

I would say that based on what you presented that the vehicle can only be refused registration if it cannot pass a state of Connecticut safety inspection.

The policy as it is written actually contradicts your scenario, it states that it must be inspected if the manufacturer does not have a State of Conn Manufacturers License, not that it cannot be inspected.

That is what, if any of this is true, should be presented to the this office for assistance,

Yup got you all heated with me... What does your Title say Vince for the DF, it no lie that they have partnered up with other companies, and they have shown that they have come up with the tha Heist, manufacture it and also that they will be manufacturing in the States within the next few years. Why are you hating on them so much. That is a good thing they are trying to do. Bring a quality affordable, product to market.
the CCW bikes can be registered in all 50 states which includes CA, NJ, PA and CT unlike the DF brand bikes. Fact is fact and I can register a stock Heist anywhere in the states, get it to pass inspection, and be 100% legit. Can the same be said about the DF?

The big issue is that these drop shippers don't know, unless a guy like you, me and mailman try to register it. they gamble with the consumer.

Oh and Vince i am a consumer just like you I dont work for these guys or their affiliates but I am passionate about my scoot

    Qlink Dealers

    Enter 06704

You will get the only Qlink dealer located in Conn.

Call them and ask them if they will help you get your bike registered.
