    Has anyone figured out how to make the headlight switch work as it was designed to on the world market. I hate to have a perfectly good switch that wont do anything.... I have looked at the wiring diagram in the Owners Manual but it may well be written in Greek as I can't make heads or tails from it. I would wade into it blind and start tracing the wires but was hoping some one could tell me to look for a specific wire in a specific spot and so on....

    I know that I ought not tamper with it as the government is trying to protect me from myself....( if they really cared for my safety, they wouldn't have let me purchase the bike in the first place... but they don't on the first item and didn't stop me on the second, so tell me how to tamper with the switch so I can return it to the way it was designed...LOL)

    Keep it shiny side up....

    Mailman, with that fix (1318), I now have parking light with the switch far right or center & full headlamp far left. No off position.

    Hey guys,i have an issue I think needs to be added to this thread.
    I have had two clutch cables snap on me in the last 2 months.I do not know why,I have play in the handle,I have the adjustments good ..I think,but I cannot seem to keep a cable from snapping off at the nipple on the handle.
    I contacted scooter depot for the first one,they sent me a replacement as it was still under warranty..but the 6 month warranty has expired and now it looks like a $70 price tag for the new cable.I am hesitant on buying it as i am concerned that it will just snapp again.
    Cable length is roughly 53 inches long..I think I need to be schooled in what I need to do to fix this issue.Should I go with a slightly longer cable...I found one that is 54 1/2 inches..with a 3 1/2 inch play area.I figure I need to rout it a little different to give it that slight tension it would need. I do not know..this is all new to me and i do not want to buy something I cannot use.
    Anyone know anything on clutch cables,and perhaps what I need to do?Also any place online I can purchase one from...seeing as how there is no one in Houston that carries anything for these bikes.

    Have you checked the lever and mount for burrs or sharp edges that maybe causing damage to the cable end?

    That is weird, did you have a situation when it broke again?

    Cleveland Motor Works, makes the Heist (DF UP GRADE) call them AM for your cable

    Cleveland CycleWerks and they are the manufacturer but PIT Motors LTD handles all the distribution and parts. Your best bet is to call WeaverRides he can get you a cable, hell he makes cables

    Bowtie,

    With the exception considered for shoddy workmanship, I am thinking that maybe your clutch cable could be "bottoming out" so to speak. I am not sure how to describe it... but I will try, if you depress the clutch and your cable pulls the clutch to its farthest limit and stops. The resulting pressure on the end of the cable could possibly cause the cable to snap or the end to break off. I would think that the cable itself would have some "stretch" to it but the ends wouldn't. I will further guess that if the end of the cable is breaking off , it could be breaking because that is the highest point of stress where the clutch cable is "levered" when you depress the clutch. If I were in your position, I would first check if the clutch assembly has any more movement beyond the stroke of the clutch lever after installing a new cable. If the clutch is not bottoming out, then all my guesses go out the door and you will be back to square one.

    The other possibility is that there was a bad run of the clutch cables at the manufacturer that slipped past Quality Control. After the second replacement, I would change vendors as suggested to see if you can get a tougher or better quality replacement part.

    I hope my thoughts are helpful to you in finding and fixing the problem. Sometimes a wrong answer can lead you to the right one.
