My 250 Yamaha calls for 75 ft.lbs,on rear axle and 40 ft.lbs on driven(rear)sprocket. My Triumph is more, but so is the size & weight.
The snap ring, which must be removed, will require the large size pliers. Most people get them at a Harbor Freight store (cheapest price for one time job).2011 Yamaha Star 250

Ok, after three months, It finally got warm enough to ride my DF. Changed out the packing oil, added gas. Checked the tire presure, had to fill front tire it was flat. It fired right up. Yeah,
Put twenty miles on it under 40 mph, that was the hard part. Resisting twisting the throtle. Ha-ha. But it ran like a champ. But at 40 it was winding out. 80 more miles to go under 40 mph. I won't make it.
Last week I took up some drag bars and a rear 38 tooth sproket to be powder coated. Said they would be ready by Monday. Well I didn't get up there until Thursday. When I walked in and ask for them I got a strange look and, oh, they're not ready yet. I'm like I am four days late picking them up and you tell me they are not ready yet? I took the sprocket with me, I am going to run it chrome. What a difference the 38 tooth sprocket makes. I took out two links of the chain with this. I think I am going to love this bike. At 55 mph the motor just purs, speed limit is 55 around here anyway. The next day I went to pick up the drag bars, when I asked them how much. Free of charge.
I never seen so many people take double looks before, it's like what am I seeing? lol. Parked on the street a dude walks by and says cool looking bike, is that a Harley? What year is it? I said no it's a China Moto 2011. He looked at me like I was just giving him some bull. I said no really. He said well it is a cool looking bike anyway. I found out why the front tire was losing air. The inlet valve in the stem was loose. Two minute fix.
I have a lot of questions for you guys. They will come up in following posts.
