Found out why my neutral light was on all the time...

The connector had un-plugged itself... Probably due to vibration.

Light works correctly now.2010 Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Owner

Time for the rear sprocket change. I went with the 35 tooth. Very flat here in CC.

Craftsman jack made this a breeze. Strapped her down to the jack.

Taken before reinstalling the flat washer, c-clip and nuts.

Finished. Took her out tonite, and cruised like a dream. Doesn't wind out like I going to blow the engine at 50. LOL2010 Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Owner

I upgraded my carb jets. I'm now running a #108 main and a #45 pilot jet(slow jet) with the c-clip moved down one slot on my new adjustable needle. I did also get a #42 pilot in case the #45 was too much.
Will let you know how this works out.
KEIHIN ROUND MAIN JETS N424-36 NICKEL PLATED TO PREVENT CORROSION
KEIHIN SLOW JET N424-21
Carburetor Repair Kit - PZ-30
From the factory setup was #105 main and #40 pilot.2010 Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Owner

I did my first valve adjustment on the bike also yesterday. I made the mistake of checking the clearance on the wrong stroke after set to the "T" line.
The valves seemed tight as shit and I readjusted the exhaust to .008 and intake to .006
Put her back together, started her up and had a louder than normal "clattering" sound. Took everything back apart again, set to the "T" line and felt the rocker arm, it was real loose, maybe a 1/8" gap. LOL. Spun the crank bolt counterclock wise again to the "T" line and the valves were tight, wrong stroke there, spun around again to the "T" line where the rockers arm were loose and reajusted to the above setting. All is good. I needed to set the "T" line to the compression stroke. I now have a slight tick on the compression stroke. May this will help others doing there own.2010 Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Owner

Hello all,
I'm about to take my cycle class this weekend and if all goes well (if I enjoy riding), I'm seriously thinking of the DF Bobber.
Where is the safest and least expensive place to order one? I guess I'll need a sprocket too. And the place for the 35.
I really like the Heist, but can't find myself paying another $1000 for something I may or may not continue to do. It seems to me that maybe adding on a few pieces may make it look similar. I wish the DF had chrome wheels.
Also, if I buy the DF, can I get replacement parts, tires, plugs, here in VA?
Thansks! AJ

All I can say is I purchased mine from ScooterDepot. The only problem I have had with the bike is they leaked air at the spokes in the front tire. They told me today that they are honoring the warrenty with a new rim complete with bearings. All I will have to do is change the tire out and switch out the disk for the brake. I can live with that. Said I will get a tracking number by Thursday. I am running a 38 tooth rear sprocket. Cruises at 55 mph. Nice. The air injecter I removed. It also quit popping at deceleration after removing the air injecter. Also I think the rare earth oil plug is a must. I ordered the saddle bags for it, but they sent me two left saddle bags. so I sent one back. Waiting on the right bag. I get a free tee shirt for my trouble, Yea! ? I put on a drag bar, I didn't like the bars that came with it. Added a handle bar bag. I will post pics as soon as the right bag get's here. The changes I have done all came from here. So I am starting to put some faith in these guys. So with that, I am glad I found this forum.
If I can figure out a way to seal the original rim spokes, I'll have two rims. Not that I'll ever need another rim. One that holds air will be enough.
For a novice rider, I'd think twice unless you are close to the dealer where you purchased it. Or are really mechanically inclined. Or have some really good friends that are. Or you just like beating your head against the wall. Just kidding.
I really like the bike. I wouldn't think twice about it. If you ae happy with 55 mph, and like riding solo.?
When I have 600 miles on the bike instead of 60, I will post again.
Thanks for all the help.
I won't name any names. But you know who you are just from what I have done to my bike.

You will like riding if you have the right bike for your expectations.
Plenty of places around VA to get parts.I doubt there are many dealers that will service the bike. Most people that buy Chinese bikes do so with the understanding that they will have to do most,if not all,of the repair work themselves. No worries tho.China bikes are the easiest to work on compared to most other brands. This forum will help guide you,if you need it.
