#1 Pioneer (Qingqi) XF200 Starting Problem08-02-2012, 10:25 PM
Hello.
I have an intermittant starting problem with my Pioneer (Qingqi) 2006 XF200.
The starting mechanism jams occasionally. It can sometimes be freed by putting the bike in gear and pushing backwards but this is not the ideal sulution.
Sometimes the starter motor spins freely with no engine contact.
I believe this model has a starter clutch and it is recommended in the basic instruction manual that you pull the clutch lever in when starting the bike. Could the problem be caused by a worn main clutch causing the starting clutch to work incorrectly? My main cutch appears to be OK.
The problem stops happening for a while when I tighten the clutch cable. Any ideas?Last edited by jimwelsh; 08-02-2012 at 10:26 PM. Reason: Typo

I am not 100% sure if those are your related parts? You would need to take off the side cover and if you do you need the gasket to replace.

Its hanging up and why is something to do with all the parts above, I am guessing.

08-03-2012, 08:34 PMIf it's not the starter motor, then it must be the Bendix, like my neighbour Zorge suggested. The spring or the washer not moving properly on the shaft.
Next, would be something in the gearbox since tightening the clutch eases the problem.

Did you replace the starter clutch? It is not releasing the starter gear. That would explain why rolling it backwards knocks it loose.
I bet if you could open the case while it is stuck and could see the teeth on the starter gear and clutch in contact and then rolled it backwards you then would see the clutch retract?
That would be this part.

I believe that while spinning the teeth come out and when not they retract.
