Zongshen ranks 8 in the top ten Chinese manufactures, in the first half of 2012 they lost a whopping 22.27% of production over the same period 2011. They sell close to 70% of that production domestically, ranking 9 in the top 50 exporters. A larger manufacture that is loosing ground fast.
They are now making some efforts to recover….
Zonshen has a new models for 2012 called a ZS150-48.
The Zongshen version will be labeled as a Z-one.
The model will also be offered as a Piaggio BYQ150-8
Zongshen will be expanding its offering through its Foshan division and has added Aprilia and Vespa import models to its Foshan website, as well as a line-up of domestically manufactured 150 class bikes that they will be offering under the Piaggio brand name.

If you noticed different engines, that is because it comes with as many as five different engine options. From a CG125 OHV to their new PB150 the later is claimed as a product of their venture with Piaggio, they feel it is the perfect commuter bike engine, smooth, reliable and quite with decent low to mid range torque.

The Z-one is not showing up in Brazil on the Kasinski site, they still are only offering the Comet 150, they could replace it with this model the z-one. as it is much more refined looking.
The bike showed up in a trade show in Lima, there is a Zongshen venture in that country that seems to be floundering around. Here is an Image of the Z-ONE in Peru.

Zongshen PEM blames its inability to adapt to changing market conditions on the changing market conditions.
Resulting in operating losses amounting to 1.7M USD so far this year. They shipped 296,300 units YTD and that is off by 28% from 2011.
The parent companies bought out all the shares in Zongshen PEM.
In brief Zongshen PEM took on the role as an independent wholesaler, they became the interface between the manufacturing base in china and the retail global market. Not sure but I believe they sell motorcycles, but not real interested in promting them through their websites? Most of activity on the website seems to be practicing accounting?
Any how, not sure if the subsidiary selling paper, back and forth will make a difference? In what seems to be a meltdown, for lack of a better term.
On the PEM website they do little to advertise their offerings, they do have a blurb “Mass produced sport motorcycles” The image is of a prototype, they offer behind that statement an image of a ZS500GS, that they circulated though trade shows. Here are some images of it and what likely is the water cooled engine that might propel the bike, I would like to find a website that offered a comprehensive catalog of all of the Zongshens engine offered. I believe the engine in the ZS500GS is available and utilized typically in ATV’s?
I suggest that they update this page, it offers inaccurate forecasts, actually predcits the antithesis of the current trend in china, but then again they have their excuses for the unforeseen effects of the changes in the markets.Last edited by MJH; 12-27-2015 at 11:26 PM.

Zongshen has its Peru website up and running, what is interesting is that they are offering the ZS200GY and also the ZS200GS. These are models once offered in the USA, Zongshen left the USA market in 2010. They offered both these, though the GS was offered with a 250 version engine, that was notoriously unreliable. These two versions however share the Zongshen copy of the Yamaha TW200 engine. The other Dual Sports they are offering look to be Honda type copies.

Why did they name the little street bikes a Robinson?
Very nice looking bike though, that is the name they gave the Piaggio versions of the 150.
They opened a dealership in Shanghai, they import and sell the
Aprillia Mana, no prices though on the website.
