I know look at the Keeway offering in the Ukraine....so inexpensive.

Strike 1 for HD! Motomia is the top selling brand in Cape Town, although there is no real comparison. Motomias marketing has been great and they have changed the perception of chinese motorcycles through not only their marketing but by their good after purchase support too. I used to like Harleys until I rode one, I'm sorry I did as it blew up the mystique I had created for myself over the make.

To answer your question about the high RPM stumbling.. somehow it's better. Especially if I ease the throttle more gently downward. So maybe it's a fuel issue after all. The mech hasnt seen it yet but that 4000km service is due really soon. Maybe she needed to get used to the new front sprocket..who knows?

Ok finally! Problem solved on the high rev stumbling and guess what? It was a fuel issue after all.. Turns out my mechie solved it, although I have to say I helped too. I noticed something interesting the other day. My bike had only recently come back from it's 4000km service and despite running better etc. she started coughing and finnaly spluttered to come to a resounding halt on the side of the freeway! Normally this would have upset me no end. I pulled off my gloves, texted my wife to come and pick me up and wondered what the hell was going on. Suddenly a thought came over me.. I reached down and flipped the fuel tap from it's down facing position to up facing position. Twisted the throttle and bamb she started first time! What a surprise, I had a quarter tank of fuel and she was always left on the reserve position (my mechie chided me on this point). Turning the fuel tap to up position solved it.

Anyway, I told my mechie what had happened. This prompted him to disconnect the fuel pipe from the tap and there it was.. fuel barely dribbled through when the tap was in the down position. On the up position the fuel flowed better but not great. So out came the air hose and ten seconds later the fuel was flowing perfectly! Bottom line she revs cleanly and performs excactly as I expect her too. What a relief! Thanks motomia, thanks raymond for excellent care and customer support. Also appreciate wisdom from MJH, nice to have good advice from the china moto team as well.

P.s. cant wait for the new china 650cc bikes to hit this country. I'm told the Loncin will arrive here next year!

I doubt you will see a 650 Loncin any time soon....if you do it will most likely be a private labeled Kawasaki made in china by Loncin.
I hope you did not do any harm to the engine leaning it out like that, but the problem is over now. Hope nothing else has cropped up since then.

It would really suck if they decided to not release the Loncin 650's indeed! CF moto's model looks awesome and the praises have been sung. I hope to convince Motmia single handedly to bring these in if possible? Not sure what agreements they have signed with Loncin though.

On my end, just what damage could I have done to the engine running it lean like that? She seems fine, but what symptoms should I keep a look out for just in case. Would like to sort it out before my warranty runs out!
