Skullworkz, Dang...looking super nice. Love the bracket now and the wrap. I like the type of the wrap you used also, I'm not a fan of the white wrap. The specter oil cap tops it all off. I agree when the generic Headlight and turn signals get swaped out, it will add a lot too the bike. My buddy scored his df today and its safe in his garage. It's the gloss black , he's eager to start detailing it out over the winter. I saw it and its a looker, guys were gathered around it looking at it in the back of his truck today, amazing these things get so much attention. He will join the forum later this week. I'm about out of cosmetic crap that I felt I had to do immediately now on to the mechanical stuff for awhile. Hope you figure out a cool solution to making a steel oil tank . When you swap it out... are you painting it black?

It really depends on what material I end up using for the tank and if I have to do any welding. I am cosidering making a coffin with sheet steel and mounting it on the top from the OEM pivot bracket. I found a REALLY COOL 32oz stainless flask that I was going to use, but it was just not thick enough. As soon as I come up with a solid idea you can be sure I'll post some pics for ya. Congrats to your buddy, sounds like he's got the DF "bug" too! OH, and my new rear blinkers will be here today! Will install and snap a pic also

Does anyone have a DF 250 rtb seat laying around they want to sell? I need the entire seat with bracket. I just do not need the spring. PM me or post a reply.

Keep us posted Skullworkz, it's gonna be a long winter! I'm sure you will come up with something creative. Someone a while back used 2 aluminum grease pots from Walmart with good results for a clean round tank. They are made By home life .

New blinkers, didn't have to run resistors and they blink at the normal rate.IMG_20121229_210857.jpgIMG_20121229_191105.jpg

Skullworkz So no re-wiring? LED? Source? Those are super small and clean on the bike! What is the lower photo of wiring? Sorry if slow minded here. I just ordered seat springs/ went with 5" tall straight ones even though the seat gap is 7 inches tall. I will preload the stock seat lower. Then 1" dia no weld solo seat mount stantions. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NO-WELD-SPRI...b195a6&vxp=mtr These add about a 1 inch to the height anyhow. Who knows until one gets the parts to know if they will work. one inch dia no weld.jpg

The other photo is of the actual blinker itself to show how small they are. The blinker is LED and I ran the wiring up the rear frame stantions. I used some black shrink tubing from Harbor Freight to make a nice sleeve for the wire to run in to prevent damage. I then cut the ends off the factory wires inside the plastic oil tank and soldered them to the new wires and shrink wrapped those as well. I'll snap a better pic for you here in a few.

Just ordered the new grips/front blinkers. Cant wait for them to get here! Seat will be here on the 3rd and I will promptly get to hacking up the old seat bracket and welding on the new seat. Then off to powdercoat. Then , last but not least the new headlight to top it all off. Sold the old mirrors and rear blinkers on craigslist for $5 more than I paid for the new ones to replace them!
