01-22-2013, 05:40 AMHi all,
Some may remember that I recently took my Chinese driving test.
However it was just a C1 license, and not the C1D that I wanted.
The official translator service made a translation error, and only translated my car license details, ignoring, or forgetting my other categories.
On about 04 December 2012.
Cut a long story short, we got the corrected translation, at no extra cost.
We took the new translated documents to the traffic, and they said, wait 3 months, as it needs to go to "head traffic dept, in Jinan" and it will be looked at.
I was wanting them to add on the "D" entitlement to my already "C1" entitlement.
This morning 22 January, 2013, we get a phone call from traffic department, to come and collect my new license.
So now I have the all important C1+D
.
This has now vastly restored my faith in the system.
We just went there once to traffic to ask if there was any progress, this was about 1st or second week in January.

01-22-2013, 06:24 AMDear Graham,
Hot damn! What wonderful news. Congratulations. Maybe the new 18th congress leadership are reformers after all!
Only one wish: How about threading today's post in your earlier Hip Hip Hooray thread, or better yet, with the big sticky Getting a Chinese Motorcycle License thread, rather than starting a new one. A lot more people will see it, and benefit from it, that way.
Congrats again. Now, do you have a bike yet? Warm enough to ride?
cheersjkp

01-22-2013, 08:02 AMDear Graham,
In my four years in this forum, I've never seen a moderator or administrator work the kind of miracle you've requested. MyChinaMoto is a user-serviced website. Yours was an excellent post, so if you are so inclined please do consider just reposting it into your earlier thread or the big sticky, where it will have wider reach.
cheersjkp

01-22-2013, 08:58 AMmate, not a very smart move putting your full driving license scan on a public forum...... nuff' said.

Good for you Gra. Post this in the other threads that Euphonius mentioned for complete coverage, and as TB=Racing mentioned it would be advisable to remove your scan copy of the license, edit out the sensitive bits and report it, that way no low-life can use the information to copy it and use it... because anything is possible... and probable too. TIC!
