#1 Google Earth 5.0 update...02-09-2009, 04:28 PM
FYI,
Just got an email from Google Earth folks saying they are discontinuing the GE Plus version which enabled GPS interface and data import functionality. Apparently this is now available for free in their standard GE v5.0.
Those of use that paid to be Plus members can try the Pro version for two months free and get a one year discount price of 99 bucks (normally 400). Pro allows a few more features including 3x higher res images, the import of spreadsheet data and a movie maker.
For the discount, enter the promo code: PLS2PRUS (PLS2PREU for Euros and PLS2PRUK for British Pound)

I downloaded the pro version and can't see 3x higher res, but the speed is better than the plus version. The fly through video recording is nice
Cheers!

I think that's supposed to be 3x print res.

the new google earth looks pretty sweet. I'm going to use it to look for remote beaches in vietnam.
