#1 Greetings from Bristol/Bath - new Superbyke RMR 125 owner02-18-2013, 11:24 AM
Hi,
Just picked up a new RMR 125 and getting used to riding again after about 20 years. Seems okay for my immediate needs - i.e. a 30-mile daily round-commute once or twice a week and a bit of fun at the weekends.
Maybe it's just me being nervous, but I've heard the tyres on the RMR 125 are a bit tough and not especially grippy. Any thoughts?
Meantime - hello everyone. Look forward to being part of another OC forum. I've used one for a Nissan Skyline (that was a car and a half), and for my Mitsubishi L200 Strada pick-up. God bless the internet for saving me hundreds and teaching me plenty.
PARP!

Welcome, George
the tyres are of nylon compound which are really long lasting but have so very little grip in the wet would recomend Michelin pilot sporty's there not to expensive and they are great in both wet and rain for grip its what I use on my Supermoto.

Welcome to here...I use my bike to commute 30 miles round-trip per day/5 days a week. I have a TMEC 200 which is identical to the TMEC 125 bikes sold in the UK. I am sure your bike's engine is based on the Suzuki DR 125 which probably has more power and reliability than my Zongshen Honda-cloned engine. What color did you get?

Hi Culcune,
I bet the weather's better for you! Yes, the engine is a Suzuki-endorsed version of its GN125 engine. Everything seems fine, and the four stroke sounds good and pulls well. I went for the black one in the end. The orange one is a poor-man's KTM colour, and I've never liked blue - although the chrome rims are nicer on the blue. Just starting to relax into it and have some fun. Better than sitting in traffic, which is what a lot of us do here, five days a week!
Never been to Yuma. Have travelled through AZ a few times, though. Loved Tucson. We stayed at Hotel Congress a couple of nights en route from Big Bend to Joshua Tree. Cool place.
Cheers for now.
George.
