Hey Dawg, welcome. Sadly most everyone is on some Facebook Heist page now. Personally, I hate Facebook so that's out for me. But would welcome reading your posts.

That said, truth be told, my history with bikes has been scooters and mopeds and for my needs I am questioning whether the Tha Heist is right for me. I've been learning to ride hit and miss for months now- lack of time/ other Family priorities so I've probably spent more time building my custom tail light - replacing speedometer - handlebars and seat than riding it. Doesn't mean I don't love the Bobber. But I had a thought today and thought I'd share. If we keep these China bikes, after Cleveland Cyclewerks starts building in the US are these bikes more than worthless? Should people sell now and buy again later? I know, right before the real estate crash my home was worth $104,000. It is now worth $9,000. No joke...

So what happens to the value of the China bikes then? Granted I have been on the fence of selling my Heist for months- not because she aint riding and beautiful, but my circumstances/needs and she is still mine.

Value now vs value later? Does it matter? And I've had a few Beers :)

The value of a china bike goes down down down down down......

Maybe after 20 years some crazy man would pay a lot of your bike if Cleveland Werks becomes succesfull.

That said, on her maiden voyage I was offered more money of my bike than I paid of her (about 400 euro more). She was not for sale, however.

Just this week there was an ebay auction:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Custo...-/271143750145

    heist.jPG

for a 2012 that did have a bid for $2500 with a buy it now for $3900 (which I thought was high) but the reserve was not met. My bike is a 2012 with a $300 seat, Bridgestone speedo and custom tail light etc. etc. and honestly getting say $2600 to God forbid $3000 I think would be a good deal considering. But like I said- I haven't sold it and could have. I know that when I got my first 150cc scooter I was terrified going 30 mph! Damn imagination! My issues aren't the bike so I'm not complaining about CCW. Just my city blocks are small and the the damn moped is light and easy. So do I need a motorcycle? IDK. But I do wonder what will happen with the US vs China bikes. Better? Worse? D'Ohhh!

Hello! hello hello (echo)? Looks like I will be selling my beautiful bobber. I am sad this thread appears dead though :( Who knows, maybe if it wasn't I'd be talked into keeping it. Probably not. Maybe? Will be selling it not because of any defects but because in this tiny town, I want something I don't have to shift so often. My distance of travel needs are minimal so a scooter would be a better choice. If I had a longer distance to travel Tha Heist would be a perfect fit... sigh. The thing is I love this bike. If only I didn't have to shift 3 times just to get out of the road I live on and 3 times to the next light and so on. But that's not the bike's fault, it's the 250cc I guess. And I just learned to ride my first motorcycle!

If you're looking for a Heist that's practically NEW!- direct from Weaver Rides- under 25 miles on it - custom speedo, seat and handlebars check out ebay in a day or so. I'll post a link and some new pics for show.

Hey man, I know to each is own, but I wouldn't go back to a scooter. I just started riding myself, Heist is my first bike. I know shifting could seem like a pain in you know what but the more you ride less you going to think about it. It was same for me with driving a stick shift in a car, in the beginning it was a pain but with time don't even think about it. Good luck with whatever you decide.

What's up guys. I'm new to the site, red just about all the threads on tha heist. I bought one brand new about two months ago. I'll post some picks in a bit. Iv had a lot of trouble, lack or rear breaks and no speedo. The dealer said its covered under parts warranty. This issue has taken over a month. Has any one had these problems? Or had troubles with stock carbs?
