There is already a thread on the new Jialing: http://www.mychinamoto.com/forums/sh...223-Enduro-EFI
Filipu: you defintely need new tires. I don't remember exactly but I think I changed after 8.5 k. You probably need tu change during the trip. Maybe you can order and ship it ahead to a shop in Urumupi...------------------------------

Thanks Fahni, I will change them before the trip. They look shit, but I thought I like changing parts too much. Third chain already on my bike;) But 8k for tires is a lot? I thought mine look so bad because I was riding on some sharp stones. Does anyone know a shop in Urumqi? ha

Fahni that seems like it might be a different bike: that one is a jh(200/223/250?)gy-5A whereas this is a jh150gy-5 (no suffix) though looking at the pictures they seem very similar, but not exact - though that could be year on year variations instead of different model... this site says they're the same though: http://www.mtuo.com/news/html/201209...2715271830.htm

Anyone have an idea of a shop, in Beijing, where a full lineup of these 150 - 250 JHs might be found?

Hey TDW! I remember the cinfusion when I saw the bike in the shop. I mentioned it on the other thread. The bike was labbeled GY-5 but came with one of the new JH cbi700 engines. It might be possible that they offer the same frame with the cbi 700 engines (that would be 223cc EFI as in the pix I had posted in the other thread) and with the cbi500 (that would be 150cc carburated as in the picture you posted)

so that new mystery bike seems to now "officially" be the 嘉陵 翼侠JH200GY-5 (with a 223 engine...)

So I guess it can get its own thread whenever someone buys one ;)

okay, back to the jh150gy-3
I've still been looking for proper racks for this thing and I found this thread:
http://motorcycle.sh.cn/t_17333451.htm
The guy's ever so helpful by saying "I bought these at the shop..." I'm assuming in an hui... doesn't help me.
BY8yz3wsH7525.jpg
but doing some taobao shopping with a buddy (looking for a rack for his Super Sherpa) I came across these:
rack
top box
panniers
Of course I had the usual retail experience:
ME: "I have a jialing jh150gy-3 and a Kawasaki super sherpa do you have a rack that would fit either of those?"
HIM: "I don't know"
ME: "I see you have racks listed for 6 different bikes, are they all the same size or different sizes?"
HIM: "..."
ME: "If I measured the bikes could you custom make a rack"
HIM: "No. You should just buy one and bend it if it doesn't fit"
ME: "What if it's too small?"
HIM: "You can buy one and I will ship it to you in pieces - you weld it yourself."
ME: "What if it's too small? Can you give me the measurements of the sizes you have."
HIM: "They fit those listed models of bike, you can look up their dimensions online"
goddammitsomuch.
So right now I'm looking up those various bike sizes and I'm going to 差不多 with one that's about the right size (triumph and BMW are probably too big...)
I'll post back if I order one and get it installed - as well as if I can get a deal for rack + 3 boxes.
Oh yeah - the top box is available in 40, 50, 60L capacities and the panniers in 35, 45, 55L.

Don't you think the racks and panniers would be a bit too much for sucha small bike? ;)

Danny,
Talk to this guy http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=...id=15565598849 he has good panniers. A bit more expensive but he can customize racks and make them especially for the model you want. When i talked to him he seemed quite knowledgeable and helpful
