Here it is. She wasn't happy with it, so she took part of it apart and added reinforcement to the front and reconfigured the straps underneath a bit. Ignore the funky color on the second one. Camera's weird.

www.skullworkz.wife man i am pumped. tried to wrench the seat off today. yep, tried...
but i did get a couple of squirts of primer on the tank. the fender is ready for a wet sand @ 600grit then the gloss. the bottom left back of the front fender has a peculiar looking dent.
i did not notice untill finished prime. i have 2 fenders and they both have this dent. i bet all
fenders have. check it out, then check in. the tank has weird stuff too. the shape of the top is not even round. there is a strange edge shape. the stripe and wicked deep clearcoat kind of act as a distraction. i am making the front fender and tank super high gloss black. i am going to leave the rear fender the way it is original stripe included, and paint the bottom part of it glossy. i think that would look cool, like its one long fender instead of two short ones.
man, mister letter writer today. i gotta get owwwt on my bike. hurts to even say. 5weeksto go

Very nice Ural Yamal Limited. If you ever get tired of the kawasaki and decide to rid of it, let me know. Keep thinkin about getting the new dongfang now, ya hear. It would be nice to see you back here on a regular basis.

    Dear Barnone,

You must get some pretty fun reactions on the Ural. That's sweet. I also like the bicycle rack. There are so many times when a bicycle is the perfect complement to a motorcycle, or vice versa.

There are a couple of bicycle racks out there for motorcycles, the Johnnyrack and something called 2x2. But I find little evidence that Johnnyrack is still in business; their websites are dead letters.

Anyway, great to know you are out there making mischief. The Ural and Kawi are sweet rides both!

    cheers!

Good Morning to the infamous Barnone! The guy's on here have great things to say about your knowledge of the DF250 and bikes in general. I have read all of the pages and have started rereading them to try and obtain some knowledge. The thread is very invaluable. I am not wanting to buy the DF250 to get mad speed out of it, I have my Harley for that. I have been attracted to the bobbed style bike for some time now. I do not want to put out money for a used Rebel,Yamaha or whatever and then put money into bobbing it out. hence that is where the DF250 comes in to play. I am hoping that the 2012 model will have worked some of the tweeks out, buy the bobber having the concept of being stripped and haaving the basics I plan on trying to do some of the stuff my self. So in closing I am happy to see that you are on the thread again, and as soon as I get my new toy i will post some pics, next to my 1200 custom Sportster! Have a great day

    Thanks for all the replies.
What is the verdict on the 2012 DF? How is the fuel tank? Price is a little higher but if a few of the 2010 model problems are solved then I am ok with the extra money.

We had a Ural get together at Bike Week in Daytona. Fifteen hacks showed plus one Ural solo.
Lots of fun sharing modifications. My Yamal is the one closest to the porta johns.

Ural solo owned by a real Russian named Ivan. The joke with these bikes is asking "What would Ivan do?" when faced with a Ural issue. Quality is a little better than the typical China bike.

A little chilly but a fun day.

My 2012 Limited Edition (only 50 made) Ural Yamal is named after the nuclear powered Russian icebreaker which takes tourist to the North Pole.

Russian humor, paddle which comes with the hack.

Owning one of these hacks you are faced with what is called the UDF ( Ural Delay Factor) which occurs any time you are stopped. People bombard you with questions, kinda like the DF experience. What year? What make? Did you restore it? People always waving. Giving the thumbs up. etc.

    Regarding the 2012 DF

    DF250RTB_B
    DF250RTB-B

    D250RTB_A
    DF250RTB-A
Is the gas tank leaking problem fixed? Looks like it.

What model of the 2012 did you buy and why?

What are the advantages of the newer models?

    DF250RTB B or DF250RTB A?

    Thanks

$15k+ for the 2012 Yamal because it is a limited edition, 2WD, loaded. Least expensive Ural for 2013 is the T at $10.5k+.
I bought mine from a dealer in Naples,FL. There are Ural dealers all over the world.
    Find a dealer at http://www.ural.com/
    USA distributor at http://www.imz-ural.com/
