The usual then...........most of these "restorerer/rebuilders/buy an unpained Nanchang bike, for as cheap as possible, paint it and sell it on shops" have these kinds of issues at one time or another.......................It's part of the low price. You could have paid more and gotten the same elsewhere.
You have Hebei plates or real Beijing ones ?

Small contribution to the debate here, for what it's worth
I only went to Leo's once to have a look, and I wasnt very convinced, and its true that word on the street is that he's not good.
I havent experienced his work myself so I cant be too affirmative, but several other shops have much better feed-back, so if one day I get a CJ - and not opt for a BMW engine - I'd rather go to those shops than to the guy who has persistent bad press.

Hi Sabine
Thanks for the tip, but its not for now to consider. Ideally I'll get a plain sidecar in 2010 to cut my teeth on the driving and hopefully in 2011 upgrade to a BMW-powered one.
We'll see; my personal wealth will determine if I can be the happy owner of such a bike
