02-15-2015, 03:32 AMWhere did I read about a factory in Guangzhou making 400cc dual sport bikes? I'm moving to Qing yuan just a small distance North of GZ and could be interested in a new set of wheels and a 400 sounds good!

Hi John, IMO after 11.000km over the last 6 weeks riding with the Doc with me riding on a Honda CRF250L I can appreciate why your DRZ400 seemingly ticks all the boxes. A DS bike makes a lot of sense. Now with the possibility that Honda will bring out the CRF250 utilising the new CB300R engine, then the re powered Honda CRF IMHO would be a fairly close match to the DRZ400, it's just a shame most DRZ400 were illegally imported into China - making them a less than ideal choice. I can totally understand your comments with regards to your bike.
The CRF250 has a 7.7L fuel tank but has been good for 200km range, a larger tank would likely be a worthy upgrade.

The bike that got me started riding motorcycles in China - that exact Shineray right there, that was parked at my friend's apartment complex. It took me a while to figure out that it was the same exact motorcycle as I would later see on this website. Funny...
Not this bike in this picture either, but the Shineray belonging to supersignet...

Shineray makes the X5. That's the only 400cc DS I know of. And it's not made in Guangzhou. I haven't heard of any bikes being made in Guangzhou. I was unsuccessful buying a Shineray, in any way. Just couldn't get my hands on one from the factory any way I tried to maneuver, being constantly told to find a dealer, which there isn't in Guangdong.
