06-15-2015, 07:19 PMOK, so my grandson's quad has a Honda 110 cc engine. when I press the start button the solenoid comes in and I have power through to the starter but the starter doesn't spin. After playing with it a few times I did get it to turn over once for a few seconds until I realized there was no gas in the tank so I filled it and tried again but, once again it would not crank. I removed the two screws holding the starter to the block but the starter motor will not pull free. It backed off about 1/4 " but seems to be hanging up on something inside - is there a trick to this?

There is no solenoid/bendix on that engine, just chain that connects starter and freewheel on the crankcase.

06-15-2015, 10:53 PMThere is a little solenoid that runs the starter but it hangs under the front body. I guess the chain is what's holding the starter in place. How is that accessed? There must be a cover that comes off I guess.

You must to remove left crankcase cover and you'll reach C-clip that holds starter's sprocket, and after that you'll figure it out by yourself.
