#1 Hello from a Scottish guy in Beijing01-06-2016, 06:57 AM
Hello all.
I've been in Beijing for about 5 weeks now and have a job teaching English. Looking to get a very cheap 600cc bike I can tinker with and go for rides outside of Beijing on to fill the empty hole that old cars used to fill when I was back in the UK. I hope I can eventually contribute to this forum rather that just be an information leech

I think an old Jialing JH600 thumper could be ideal, but not too easy to find.
Without consciousness, space and time are nothing; in reality you can take any time -- whether past or future -− as your new frame of reference. Death is a reboot that leads to all potentialities.

here are some links to the JH600 new, to get you started.

I supose if you could get a decent used one it be a good option?
There are not allot of midrange options in China, there are a few 250-300cc options.
It seem it may be possible now to get a 250cc Benelli motard...that be my choice if you can find one.

if they are actuually selling for 16,800 RMB, I rather be in for $2500.00, then holding a used bike that cost more.

I will be converting my UK licence to a Chinese one and making sure the bike is legal. Don't know why you think the bike would be taken away from me.
I would be looking at a used bike. I used to really enjoy working on car so I would be happy getting a bike thats not in good condition and fixing it up/modifying it. I really want a 600 or a 650 because this isn't really for traveling around Beijing, I want something I can work on and ride out of the city and enjoy the surrounding areas so the issues with a bigger bike in the city wouldn't effect me.
Zorge, that would be a good second bike for me to get about the city :DWinging it since 1991

Then check out JH600 or Benelli BJ600 with B plate. That's the only option .... But no idea if you can find one nowadays
