What is on that truck? Are those bee hives? If so, I wouldn't want to follow that truck for long on a motorcycle.

Passing a big new monument up in the mountains between Wuzhishan and Ledong enroute back down to Yalong Bay (Sanya) from Haikou.....

Seems they can not make up their minds about vehicles on the Hainan G98 expressway, spot the important difference?
Hainan Island expressways do not have toll gates, the petrol is more expensive compared to the Mainland to make up for it....
Back at Yalong Bay having a pit-stop at the first massive HOG meeting point open on Hainan Island and the VV-Gallery Sanya right next door exhibits some rather interesting large paintings outside the gallery.....
Dear TB-Racing,
Thanks for posting, but this is off topic. No motorcycles!
cheers!

not every picture in a ride report can have bikes in the pics but just for you, take a good look at my beautiful army green DINGALING sidecar, just like a playmate centrefold in a Playboy magazine....
-hey, I am cruising around with a smile while others still talk about buying a bike and dream about riding-
Now that's stimulating!
Wow. What is going to happen if TB Racing posts some pic of the tankcap or wheel bearings . . . . Guess don't want to know . . . . Moderator keep an eye on this guy LOL
This pics are for the MCM folks that never been to China and visited a so called "wet market"...
Sorry, no bikes again - more naked flesh, pork this time, at the #1 Market in downtown Sanya....
Here we go once again, Sanya #1 Food Market - great fresh / live seafood for our regular beach BBQ's.....
Seafood galore...
G'Day,
Sad news, the Jialing JH600 sidecar got crated again and is on the way back to Shanghai after all the fun in the sun around Hainan Island (Southern China).
Great relaxed riding around Sanya and the rest of Hainan Island and lets not talk about the pleasant weather every day, empty beaches and mountain regions (easy to avoid the touristy scams, crap and traps). Visited some nice areas during the island stay like Sanya, Dadonghai, Riyue Bay, Shimei Bay, Haitang Bay, Boao, Wenchang, Haikou, Rifan Bay, Sanya Bay, Serenity Coast Marina, Wuzhishan, Longmu Bay, Monkey Island, Clearwater Bay, Wuzhizhou Island, Yalong Bay, Ledong to just to name a few of the well-known spots.
The Jialing JH600 sidcecar had no problems, never missed a beat at all during the approx. 5000k's daily riding and bike tours and only required minor regular maintenance like drive chain lubing and once drive chain adjustment.
Hope you get some serious bike riding done in 2013 wherever you are, seeya cruising along the roads....somewhere - sometime......
ps: Southern China and Hainan Island cruising will continue in the near future.
Fantastic report from Hainan, TB. Thanks for sharing your experiences & pics. Naturally,we are all green with envy (matching your JH bikes' colors) and are plotting to kill you when you return.
Glad the JH600B satisfied your expectations. When I had mine, one thing I had thought about adding was a marine BBQ that could be stored in the trunk and then mounted on the sidecar, as needed at a camping spot. I had thought about either fabricating the front machine-gun mount so the BBQ mount could be placed there, when parked, or even just using the passenger's grab rail. I had used these on both power & sail, at anchorages, and they worked well, cooking up fresh Dungeness crabs we caught with traps and/or success at bringing in a few Pacific Sockeye Salmon. I guess a concern would be availability of replacement gas cylinders, in China.
Here's an example of one I am familiar with:

With all that fresh seafood in Hainan ... yummy.
more BBQ cook off pics....
OMG, you're killing me - unfair!
You should bring some of your select goodies up to Beijing for our Spring party kick-off.
I'll volunteer to be the judge in a cook-off between you and Jeff.
:naughty:
PS: My BBQ skills are on par with my singing skills ... yeah, I know, my band mates never allow me near a mic.
The Sanya to Shanghai moonshine rum run was a full success and herewith mission accomplished as the JL sidecar was delivered to the HQP Roadhouse as per shipping contract today.
No damage to report to the sidecar bike and rum bottles....
I was looking around for pics of the new black color (tempting), and I came across this thread ...

I recall you explaining over dinner a few nights ago about your concerns with crating / shipping / etc. Check out the forklift lowering the bike by the side car frame ... yikes, that can't be good ... the entire weight of the two-wheel part is being suspended by the connecting frame.
One's gotta be there to see what happens.
your talking about a BLACK sidecar? watch out as I know two JL sidecar owners that ordered black bikes and ended up with black / green sidecar bikes. they just spray painted the plastic panels and sidecar bucket black over the green. paint is coming off and looks crappy with green frame work on the bike and sidecar.....
Oh, you got that right, definitely need to supervise the crating and uncrating and if possible the loading and unloading of the crate (truck) was yeah, good to meet up again in the cold north....
Sanya downtown areas trying again implementing the motorbike bans.... mostly enforced around the KFC / MacDonalds located at Jifang Road (Sanya CBD).... who goes to the fast food joints anyway?

the Sanya bike ban was in place for many years but nobody cared, the upcoming Hainan Rendevouz http://hainanrendezvous.com/en/ and the recent Yalong Bay weekend family stay of the new big chief might have stirred the sh$t a little bit again and my trusty sources on the big island tell me it's mainly targeting unlicensed scooters and bikes........
No worries, the Easter Run to the Sun still going ahead as planned.
G'Day,
Really hate the ever changing weather in Shanghai this time of the year, got a bottle of sun lotion out of the cabinet, prepped and loaded the "Dingaling" JH600 for a decent run-in ride and heading South on my latest road trip......
Went straight through Hangzhou city, actually passing through the West Lake area (painful slow riding through heavy traffic as they build new elevated roads in city once again) following directions given by my Garmin GPS, got quite a few strange looks from car drivers and cops at stop lights due to the "no motorbike ban" in Hangzhou. Never got stopped by the ever present cops and two gave me actually a thumbs up sign, must be bikers themselves.....
Between Hangzhou (Zhejiang) - Quzhou (Zhejiang) the National Road #320 is lined with stone carvings for sale at the road side, the stone / concrete carvings are everywhere in all sorts of shapes and sizes.........
