Its EPA nonsense and easy to remove you will need to make a gasket for the over though. once that is done you will definitely need to richen it up. with the new exhaust you will want to upgrade the jet. The stock is a 98 and you'll want to step up to a 102 i believe.
I hit the bike night by me last night close to 300 bikes and my Widow got lots of Lovin. Also bumped into a few old friends that I havent seen in years. Good time but too late a night. Didn't get in till way past midnight.
The weather is starting to break so ride safe guys, shiny side up!Gardo northern NJ/NYC

I thought the mix screw was just for idle? I wouldn't touch it.

Are you running the bike with the choke on? If not lower the idle, it's too high. If you run the bike with the idle that high you'll wind up chipping a tooth when you engage 1st gear. If you have a clip-on tach bring it down to 650-700 RPM at idle. Sounds like it's up around 1100 in the video. Also you can adjust the fuel mixture screw by removing the black rubber cap that covers the screw courtesy of the EPA, it's under the float bowl. Use a dental type pick to pry it out. General setting is 1 1/2 turns out from bottom. With that pipe you'll need to rejet to a #101 on the main.

Nice to have someone drop in who knows stuff ... why don't you introduce yourself in the new members section?

Thanks for the advice SSR22925 and welcome.
No choke in that video, it was actually taken right after I was out riding, haven't had much trouble engaging first gear, but I may try lowering the idle anyhow

Welcome SSR!
Turner - The screw on the side of the side of the carb is the idle, turn in high idle, turn out slower idle. The air/fuel mix screw is on the bottom of the carb at the front, hidden under that black rubber plug.
Read up on that walbro carb pdf circulating here, it's great info.
Word up, nice weather and a day off for me. Gonna go mess around and take a good ride. Holiday weekend y'all, Enjoy!

Enjoy the riding, we've got another day of rain scheduled today, but after today it should be smooth riding all weekend! I'm hoping to get some serious seat time in tomorrow, my wife and daughter are going to a birthday party without me.
I've got a copy of the carb PDF printed, hoping I can make some adjustments to the idle and mix screws and see if that gets me where I need, if not I'll start looking at the jets.
