I'll check the cable in the morning. I'd get up to 50-55 in 4th, shift and seem to not have anymore power. I was going in to the wind, but I'm having a hard time believing it was that bad. This was happening on the way home, I had stopped to get a snack and drink, then started going again.

Ok the questions are, when did the problem start? Which you already answered. Are you lugging the engine , shifting to early in 4th gear. Is your leg blocking the air cleaner when riding? Wonder if its a fuel vacuum problem. and last but not least, call your dealer for assistance if it proceeds or drop Al from PIT Motors LTD a line and explain your issue to him.

Wow, been awhile since i have been on the forum and a lot of great write ups i just caught up on. Gardo, I am still trying to work on getting the bike, you wouldn't believe how hard it is to explain the info on this bike to my insurance. But should be all cleared up and getting bike in couple of weeks. Question though, what are main differences in the 2010 and 2011 models? Got some great ideas flowing for when I do get the bike though

Pereill - I got mine insured by Progressive. Also the Heist is in the Kelly Blue Book under PIT Motors right now. http://www.kbb.com/motorcycle/retail/2011/pit-motors/ That should ease any insurance issues.
The main difference between the 2010 and the 2011 was a paint quality issue that was corrected in the first run of the 2010 Heist and some of the 2010 models had Rhon stamped on an engine cover plate, outside of that there are no differences.

I'm also insured through Progressive.
I believe there's an issue in their system where it was showing up as Cleveland Trike or something along those lines, but then the model of "tha Heist" shows up under that
My insurance card currently reads: Year: 2010 Make: Cleve Model: Tha Heist
(I have a 2011 Heist btw, insurance card is wrong)

Already some great suggestions for you.
Are you sure it was actually getting into 5th? Not stuck in 4th, or somewhere in between? How was the motor responding?
How's the clutch adjustment?
How tight is the chain? Can you move the rear wheel freely on a jack?
Any leaks at the air filter?
Intermittent problems always make me think of wiring. Hows the plugs at the ignition bits? CDI connector?
Good luck, let us know what you find!
