I believe what Gardo is referring to is the compression in the cylinder not the compression ratio. The compression ratio on the 167FMM-M is 9-2.1 and will run fine with 87 grade Petrol. If the head is milled .025" it will raise it to 10.5, if there is enough clearance and it is milled .050" it will bump it up 2 full points. Anything above 10.5 and you should run 93 Octane Petrol. At that point you may also want to invest in a variable CDI one with a potentiometer so you can adjust the spark curve if need be to prevent the dreaded sound of engine knock

Well got a voltage regulator in the mail and seemed to fix the charging issue mine had straight from the dealer, but after riding in the country doing anywhere from 40-55mph bike just shuts down, and you have to choke the hell out of it to get it started again. They're trying to find a shop around me willing to look at it to save me from a 2hr drive back to the closest dealer to me. I love the bike but I wish I could just get this thing fixed so I can enjoy it! Hearing all these stories of you guys enjoying your bikes makes me jealous as hell! Hopefully soon for me though.

SSR,
Thanks for your info. I understand the difference between compression ratio and engine compression.
I am asking Gardo why he thinks that his 167FMM has a higher compression ratio without making any changes to the engine such as milling the head or changing the piston and how Weaver is measuring what he says is increased compression ratio.
I have a gauge to measure engine compression that I use to trouble shoot engine problems but that gauge will not measure compression ration. To measure compression ratio would require measuring cylinder and head volume at BDC and TDC and computing the ratio. Some way of measuring are explained at

What is the line coming at the bottom of the carb? I took all the epa crap off and ran the vent hose to it and blocked the ones on the top and right side of the carb.

well i got a call from p.i.t. today again and i think they solved the issue i was having with my bike! turns out the gas tank wasn't venting properly and causing it to die. rode around this evening with the gas cap loose and it seemed to run perfect. hopefully this is the culprit of my problem and if so it will be fixed by monday! although it's supposed to rain every day next week...... but at least i am able to ride it if it decides to be nice one day! beyond excited for this. thanks to everyone at p.i.t. awesome guys! and a big thanks to my dealer for getting things rolling on the situation.

Should I unhook the tank vent line at the tank and just have the fuel line be the only line going in to the carb?
