You in the military? I spent four years in the USAF so welcome aboard.

You should be fine on 60 MPH roads with the DF and a ride of 60 miles or more is no problem with the DF. However the DF will arrive in a crate if you buy it online so you need some wrenching eperience. If you don't have the expertise available then you should look for a dealer.

You sound like you have never bought a vehicle before with your questions about a MSO and VIN. There is nothing different about buying a DF than any other vehicle. Usually a dealer handles the paperwork with the MSO and the DMV/Tag office.

Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin (MSO) is needed to register/title the bike at your DMV or county tag office.. Sometimes it is called the MCO or CCO. Hopefully, it will be sent to you by the seller of the bike.

The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) will stamped on a plate on the bike or automobile. It must match the number on the MSO.

I'll have to get a seat cover too. Left her out in the sun for less than an hour and just about burned my ass (wearing jeans) it was so freaking hot...like sticking your ass up to a fire for too long.

Finally heard back from extremescooters.biz today so we'll see if I get the needed parts.

Anyone in Austin,TX should take their china bike to bad boyz cycle. Great guy (Mike - Owner) that doesn't mind working on them. Did remark that he thought the frame was well put together and that it was fun to ride. And he a Harley guy.

Still in the engine breaking period so I'll switch oil after that and see if neutral is easier to find...might have to put some hair around it.

Glad you found a shop for the bike. I went to UT back in the 1960's so know that area pretty well. Good riding in the hill country.

Google "hardtail saddle bags" or "softtail saddle bags" should find some on the net.

I have a sheepskin seat cover to reduce the heat buildup. Or try to find a shady parking spot.

Looks kinda goofy but the ladies like it.

ah yes i have i just never did it to where i had to do all the stuff on my own, i just dont want there to be a hassle getting it on base, and thanks for the invitation, i am in the army, and i figured this would be a cheap and fun hobbie to play around with as im sure you know guys in the barraks need there money for beer, lol. also as far as mechanics are concerned i have worked on cars for years and can figure things out by playing around with them, but by reading the thread it seems all i have to put on is the handle bar, mirrors and pegs at the most, is there more the i have to do other then that, is there extensive electical work that i have to get done?

You live on the post? If you order the DF online , you need a place to have it delivered to and where you can assemble it.

Where I was stationed in Germany we had a nice auto shop on the base where we could work on our cars and bikes. There was a guy in charge that could help with problems. Hopefully you have a shop like that on your Army post.

No electrical work on the DF other than preparing the battery and installing it. The whole job is quite simple but don't over torque the bolts and nuts. Some guys don't seem to know their own strength and strip some bolts.

BTW, Be sure and check the bike for damage in shipping before signing for it. The freight company is responsible for damage in shipping, not the seller. Pull the cardboard off the crate enough to get a good look at the bike inside BEFORE signing for the bike.

You might need some 7" helper springs like BellaCorse installed on his DF.

La Rosa design leather saddlebags i found on ebay. $99 shipped. They work pretty good with the rigid frame. Not super roomy but enough for a baseball hat and a few things from the store and some food/drinks.
The softer leather works good with the flaps around the turn signals.
