If it is in fact between 16-25k then it couldn't possibly be more expensive than the YBR... which sounds nice.
If I may; a comparison between the GW250 and the YBR250:

    GW250: 6 speed - 18.9KW - 23.8Nm torque - 26hp... that sounds nice too.
    YBR250: 5 speed - 15.5KW - 20.7Nm torque - 21hp... =(

That's considerably more powerful than the YBR, although, there is one thing I noticed in the picture above: It says the bike is 182kg. The YBR is only supposed to be 138kg wet according to one of ZMC888's posts.

    GW250: 182kg...
    YBR250: 138kg... =)

If the YBR is in fact over 44kg lighter than the GW then it may make a difference if the two bikes were to have a little race.
My guess is that the GW250 will burn a larger amount of petrol with it's twin engine and extra weight. In that case, the YBR is the more fuel efficient option. Still, I like the sound of a twin.

based on just weight and hp...
My top speed on the GW would be 84MPH
My top speed on the YBR would be 83MPH

    HP=weight X (Velocity/234)Cubed

India will be offering a 200cc KTM DUKE later this year, it will have a DOHC single 200cc water cooled engine that will offer around 20hp, KTM is in a joint venture with Bajaj, they already are offering an Indian manufactured 125cc version for sale in Europe and sold 7000 units in that market, its said to be the best selling 125cc in Europe.

KTM anticipates selling at least 25,000 of the 200cc version in India, they also plan to offer a 350cc version for 2013. The 125cc is rated at 15hp.

That scenario and that those models are all being domestically made, the 200cc competitors in the Indian market as well as the CBR250, Ninja 250 and also the Pulsar models would greatly affect potential sales numbers of the GW250 in India as well as its price point.

The result is…you will get the GW250 in china and likely with a good price tag.

The KTM 200 DUKE is rumored to be priced well under $4,000.00 in India. The 125cc got great reviews in Europe.

Thanks for the very interesting dope on the KTM-Bajaj venture, MJH. At risk of further hijacking this thread, there is a lot of good info out there about this project, including this site. And here's what it looks like.

This is a very good example of how India may actually just start kicking China's arse in international markets. China is just so pathetic when it comes to design, innovation and marketing. Bajaj and (write pretty much any Chinese brand here) are in different leagues altogether.

    cheers!

Lots of CHN complaining or being a douche that they lost face to India (Thai, etc.). I think those people are small minded and deserved it. Nice livehood is result of fighting for rights, justice, not from compromising or charity from "leaders". (Sorry if I offend other Chinese, I don't feel the same way as you did, How could you have nice thing if you compromise to evil, and even worse being one).

Majority of motorcycle buyer they would jump to car if they could offer one. In fact most of them are relatively poor. Because of extreme hardship to make a living in a inflated economy. I've worked for 5 years. But I can say this country is not a ground for enjoyment but a batterfield in every way. I have some other not-so-nice thing to comment but i think i'll take a break.

Thanks for the update, td_ref. yes, lots more pictures.

Including this one that makes me wonder if it's really fuel injected. Why would an EFI bike have a push-pull throttle?

    cheers!

There is another picture taken near throttle body. It looks like EFI to me. I don't know why they use the cable. I guess in case the spring fail so the throttle wouldn't stuck.
